Tuesday, June 18 Heat had LeBron in the post with Parker on a switch and didn't look for him on the hi-lo there.
I liked that look - 4-1 pick and roll got LeBron going to the rim. Abandoned that despite success in last two series.
"Tim Duncan has never had an iconic game. He nearly had a quadruple double in Game 6 of the 2003 Finals" was said without irony just now.
Bosh lets Duncan beat him down the floor for a dunk. Nobody boxes out Leonard. These are killer mistakes for Miami.
LeBron James can't score on Boris Diaw. Diaw blows past LeBron off the dribble. Mario Chalmers can't be stopped. This can't be life.
I'd like to see Miami go back to their snug/side pick and rolls with LeBron and a point guard that worked so well in Game 2.
The reason LeBron wouldn't just pull up is that the Spurs want him shooting 16 footers, and he knows that.
LeBron's got to start his attack from further back. That close and it becomes a strength game, which Diaw can win.
Manu Ginobili is out here like, "Sorry, guys. I know we need one more win. I got nothing left..."
I'm just not sure LeBron on Parker is a good idea this early in the game. The cumulative fatigue could catch up to him late.
Dagger of a possession for Miami's defense there. Such great defense and the Spurs score anyway.
That was a great defensive sequence from Miami, from covering the initial p&r to not overhelping to cutting off Manu driving.
Here's the Danny Green post from after Game 5. Note the sequences at the beginning. Same one there. sbn.to/17TeRlw
There's the Spurs running Danny Green along the baseline during a pick and roll, as I wrote about after Game 5
More incredible defense from Boris Diaw. He just stands LeBron up on these drives. James has to build more speed on those plays.
Mario Chalmers had 13 pts combined the last 3 games, but is walking around here like he's the nicest dude to ever lace 'em up
Chalmers playing well means Miami doesn't need to go big all the time, which conserves LeBron's energy.
If you stagger Birdman's minutes with Splitter's, it negates some of Birdman's deficiencies defending the post.
Spurs immediately run The Loop with LeBron on Parker, trying to tire LeBron out. Expect to see that a lot.
Kawhi Leonard thought about opening his mouth after dunking on Mike Miller, but couldn't bring himself to do it.
That's the danger of the Spurs. Miller had to help on a rolling Duncan, leaving Leonard open for three
Mike Miller must've been soooo jealouos of Danny Green this series. Like, that should've been me. My jumper stays wet.
Miller fronted Leonard on that Motion Weak set. I did a double take that Leonard was the screener until I remembered SA's small lineup.
Heat ran the same motion on their first two plays: Wade cut across the lane, Miller cuts for one screen, Bosh cuts for another.
