It's another busy Wednesday in the NBA.
While you will have plenty of options to choose from when setting your fantasy lineups, don't finalize anything until you have checked on the status of Los Angeles Lakers guard Jeremy Lin (illness). He has missed back-to-back games, and Jordan Clarkson ($4,800 salary; 9.6% of cap) has averaged 44.75 fantasy points per game in his absence. If Lin is sidelined again, Clarkson is an optimal source of cap relief.
G James Harden, Rockets vs. Kings
$9,300 salary | 18.6% of cap
He is one of the strongest fantasy options at any position, and Harden has a matchup against the Kings that is too good to pass up. Sacramento allows the second most points and the second most points to shooting guards of any team in the league.
F Pau Gasol, Bulls at Bucks
$8,500 salary | 17.0% of cap
Milwaukee hasn't come close to stopping him this year, and Gasol is averaging 27.7 points on 56.6% shooting and 14.0 rebounds in three previous meetings. He is pounding the Bucks to the tune of 48.60 FantasyScore points per meeting, and there is no reason to expect him to stop tonight.
C Brook Lopez, Nets at Knicks
$7,000 salary | 14.0% of cap
Lopez has been dominant lately, topping 30.00 fantasy points in eight straight while averaging 45.41. His hot streak should continue against a Knicks team allowing the most points and fourth most rebounds to centers over the past 10 games.
G Gordon Hayward, Jazz vs. Nuggets
$6,000 salary | 12.0% of cap
He has been showing off his well-rounded game recently, delivering at least 36.75 fantasy points in five of his last six games. He draws a friendly matchup against Denver's 27th-ranked scoring defense that he torched for 40.25 last Friday.
F Nicolas Batum, Trail Blazers vs. Clippers
$5,400 salary | 10.8% of cap
The Clippers struggle to defend small forwards in every facet. The versatile Batum has the skills to stuff the stat sheet and exploit the matchup. In three previous meetings, he averaged 34.38 fantasy points.
G Elfrid Payton, Magic vs. Spurs
$5,800 salary | 11.6% of cap
Payton has erased any doubts about his consistency with his recent play, logging at least 30.00 fantasy points in eight straight games. During the same stretch, he is averaging 40.78, and he shouldn't find things overly difficult against a San Antonio defense that ranks in the middle of the pack against point guards.
G Michael Carter-Williams, Bucks vs. Bulls
$6,500 salary | 13.0% of cap
Although Carter-Williams hasn't mentioned an injury bothering him, he hasn't been the same player since taking a night off to deal with soreness in his right ankle. In fact, his struggles seem to be becoming worse. He has scored 16.25 fantasy points or fewer in three of his last four games.
