The Eastern Conference is no longer the Leastern Conference, according to Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.
That might be a stretch, but numbers do tell the tale of a more equal balance of power (so far).
As of today, Eastern teams have a 28-28 record vs. the West, which is a big improvement over what we have seen in the NBA lately. In the previous 15 years, Western Conference clubs have prevailed in direct matchups against Eastern squads in all but one season (2008-09). Most of the times, it has not even been close.
