It was surely not a Merry Christmas in the Wroten household as Sixers guard Tony Wroten became the latest in a long list of players waived in the holiday season on Thursday.
Wroten tweeted nice words to everybody in Philly (except Sixers management) and vowed to prove the team wrong.
Acquired by Philadelphia in August 2013, Wroten was the longest tenured Sixer. The 6-foot-6 guard had not been playing well for Philadelphia since his return from injury on December 5, though. Wroten shot 33.8 percent from the field through eight games and had more turnovers (29) than field goals made (22).
Wroten was averaging 16.9 ppg in 2014-15 before his ACL injury.
