Jermaine O’Neal played his final season in the NBA in the Bay Area in 2013-14. The Warriors were not so damn good back then (the team finished at No. 6 in the Western Conference with a 51-31 record), but O’Neal saw potential for greatness during his short stint there. He talked about it during an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio on Thursday.
“I’m not surprised (by their play),” O’Neal said. “One of the first things that really kind of blew me away was how hard they worked. Those guys worked like the people in the 80’s and the 90’s, when it was just about basketball.”
