If there was any doubt DeMarcus Cousins was going to top the NBA in technical fouls this season, it went out the window Tuesday night with his 17th of the year vs. Portland.
Cousins will lead the league in that category for the first time in his career, but he’s actually been in the Top 8 every season since he entered the NBA. Cousins is as consistent there as he is when it comes to getting buckets and rebounds. No other player has been in the Top 8 more than four times in the last six years. He has a comfortable lead tech-wise since 2010.
(In case you were wondering, Matt Barnes has just received 46 during the same period).
Of course, Cousins still has a long way to go to match Rasheed Wallace‘s effort. Sheed was called for 142 technical fouls his first six seasons as a pro and retired with a whopping 317.
