Slovenian guard Luka Doncic keeps turning heads in the Spanish League on fire with Real Madrid. At just 17, he was named MVP of the Week earlier this month – the youngest player ever to receive that accolade in ACB history. His hot streak continued last weekend with 12 points, four assists and two steals in just 21 minutes vs. Bilbao Basket. His performance included a killer crossover and three on Serbian forward Dejan Todorovic.
For the season, he’s averaging 8.3 ppg in the Spanish League and 6.9 ppg in Euroleague play. Again, he’s just 17 and playing against grown men at the highest level in Europe. Now you may understand why he’s considered a mortal lock to be a lottery pick whenever he enters the draft.
