KAWHI LEONARD, DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
If there’s anyone entering next season with a chip on their shoulder, it’s Kawhi Leonard, and we don’t need to rehash why that is. The last time Leonard was fully healthy, he was an MVP candidate thanks to his improved scoring and still-elite defense. Whether he can regain that point-stopping form after injuries ended his 2017-18 after just nine games remains to be seen. But considering he already has two Defensive Player of the Year awards to his name, it’s a safe bet to think could take another one home as a member of the Raptors.
