AUSTIN RIVERS, SIXTH MAN OF THE YEAR
Quietly, Austin Rivers became a productive NBA player over the past couple of seasons. The Duke product is coming off a career year in which he averaged 15.1 points and 4.0 assists nightly while starting more games than he ever had before for the Clippers. Now, as a member of the Washington Wizards, who have one of the best backcourts in the league, Rivers will obviously shift back into a bench role. That may not be such a bad thing for Rivers, however, since, after learning how to excel as a starter, he can now use that knowledge to make a more productive impact off the bench.
