Detroit Pistons training camp invitees Josh Bostic and Lorenzo Brown could become the first two Grand Rapids Drive roster members if they accept assignments as affiliate players for the new NBA Development League team. The two perimeter players are trying to make a 15-man Pistons final roster in a training camp with 16 players on guaranteed contracts. While that numbers game may prove challenging, Pistons general manager Jeff Bower confirmed the team has discussed with the players’ agents the possibility of joining the first-year Drive as affiliate players.
Bower said the Pistons “never would stand in their way if they had a more lucrative offer,” but confirmed that he had discussed the D-League option with agents for both Bostic and Brown.
The Detroit Pistons announced today that the team has signed Hasheem Thabeet, Brian Cook, Lorenzo Brown and Josh Bostic to their training camp roster. Per team policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
