When Holiday was struggling shooting the ball after Games 1 and 2, Antetokounmpo said he wasn’t worried at all about his point guard with this powerful public endorsement: “If there’s a game that you’re 3 for 12, or whatever the case might be, and you can rebound the ball or get a steal or do something else to help the team win, that’s what it’s all about right now,” Antetokounmpo said last week. “He understands that. “I know he’s going to be there when we need him the most and I don’t worry about it.”
And so the Bucks did in fact continue to encourage Holiday throughout all five games. “One of the things we talk about all the time in the locker room is aggressive Jrue,” Middleton said. “When he’s aggressive, he’s one of the tougher point guards to handle – his size, his athleticism, his skill set. He can do so many things on the court when he’s aggressive and getting to the paint, hitting shots like we saw tonight and finding guys. He’s a balanced player and really skilled player that we’re lucky to have.”
After the game, Holiday said he’s received quite a bit of advice from his family and friends, as you might imagine. “Everybody. My brothers, my wife, my parents. I think during the game, though, most of the time it’s probably (assistant) Vin Baker,” Holiday said. “Vin Baker is always in my ear, continually telling me to be aggressive, continually telling me to pick up full court and make it hard on Chris Paul and Book and continually telling me I’m the greatest.
