Nearly a week after center Marcus Camby wanted to make a decision about whether to have surgery on the torn plantar fascia tissue in his left foot, he said he will put off that step as long as possible to continue with rehab in the hopes of avoiding surgery. Camby did not sound optimistic, however, that rehab will work. “Minimal progress, so still evaluating and rehabbing,”
Camby said. “I definitely want to get out there as soon as possible, so I’m doing all the precautionary steps the training staff wants me to do. It’s just a wait-and-see approach right now. Surgery has always been the last resort. I think we pretty much have done everything else. We’ll give it a little more time before we make that decision.” Camby, who has been unable to practice this preseason, would miss another two months should he opt for the surgery.
