Adam Silver promoting G League route for top prospects

Law Murray: Silver says that 25 percent of NBA players come from out of United States, promotes G-League/G-League Ignite as a paid option for some talents while league continues to discuss one-and-done rule
Joe Vardon: The NCAA won’t love this one. Asked about a new basketball league for high-school-aged players who are paid, Adam Silver said: ‘Generally it’s good to have optionality.’

Houston general manager Rafael Stone says he’s very happy with the performances of second-year guard Kevin Porter Jr. and rookie forward KJ Martin during their stint at the NBA G League’s Florida bubble. Both are being recalled to the Rockets over the All-Star break.
On Porter, here’s what Stone told Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston: When we acquired him we laid out that we wanted him to play through the break, which he’s done. We had very specific goals in mind for how he wanted him to play, what we wanted him to try and achieve. We’re extraordinarily happy with him. He did all of that.
Jeremy Woo: Jonathan Kuminga is not expected to play for G League Ignite tonight, per source, as they fight for a playoff spot against Austin in their final regular-season game. It’s a win-and-in situation for Ignite. Tip at 7PM ET on ESPN+
