Although things could change in the next couple of weeks, a source with knowledge of the situation informed me that the Sixers do not expect Jordan McRae to be with the team for upcoming training camp. Three weeks remain until the Washington Wizards kick off the 2015-16 campaign with training camp and the club has begun completing its roster of attendees by signing point guard Ish Smith and combo guard Toure’ Murry to non-guaranteed contracts with training camp invites, according to a person familiar with the situation. Neither player is expected to make the Wizards’ final roster; Washington is already at the 15-man limit and a move to make room for another player is unlikely. If anything, the Wizards prefer entering seasons with a vacant spot for flexibility.

A: I would not be surprised, with 13 fully guaranteed contracts and with Tyler Johnson's partially guaranteed deal, if the Heat open the season either without a 15th player, or with someone not on a guaranteed deal, perhaps cycling through a variety of players with that roster spot. Ennis could elect to bypass his guarantee in order to remain on more of a game-by-game basis, or the Heat could take an extended look at one of their undrafted free agents in camp, perhaps sending one of those players to the D-League while he remains under guaranteed contract. There could be something to be said about retaining flexibility with that roster spot, as long as the Heat believe they have enough depth at small forward. And I believe that remains a question mark.
Late last week, Markel Brown got another tranche of his guaranteed second year, bringing his total to $200,000. On the first day of training camp, he will get fully guaranteed or $845,059. Next up among the five non-guaranteed deals will be Quincy Miller, who'll get $100,000 on October 28, if he makes the team; and Willie Reed, who becomes fully guaranteed that same day. Donald Sloan has to wait till November 1 to get another $200,000 and Ry Boatright until November 15, when he will get $125,000 if he's still on the team. All salaries become guaranteed on January 10.

The Kings are at a crossroads yet again, with a new interim head coach, a relatively new GM, and a lot of players with uncertain futures. GM Monte McNair drafted two guards in consecutive drafts (Mitchell and Tyrese Haliburton) despite having De’Aaron Fox on the payroll, which suggests to executives around the league that Fox will be his main piece for a big move.
Interestingly, after the rumors of Lillard wanting to play with Simmons spread like wildfire online, the Australian guard caught win of the development and showed his interest in it. While the 25-year-old didn’t directly address it, he did “like” a post on Bleacher Report Instagram discussing the news.
Goorjian hopes Simmons finds a new home to help him flourish again and stressed that the Aussie had full support from the Boomers camp moving forward. “I just hope right now he finds a team, finds a place where he’s comfortable and gets on with his career,” he said. “I said to him: ‘We’re here for you. You’ve had some situations at Philly with your teammates, with the coach, with the organisation. You come here; we’ll welcome you with open arms. I think you’re going to love the environment, it’s your call.’”

Your contract comes to an end at the end of the season. Is your mind set on staying in the NBA or would you consider returning to Europe? Facundo Campazzo: My mind is 100 percent set on this, in the NBA. This league demands the most out of you both physically and mentally. It’s super difficult to think about the future. There will be time for that.
The Nets still have championship aspirations, and the presence of Irving, who averaged 27 points, five rebounds and six assists last season, would certainly help in achieving that goal. They are still paying the seven-time All-Star for the road games he misses due to the team’s decision to not employ him as a part-time player for away contests. “From what I’ve seen, they’re still a good team without Kyrie, but they definitely need him,” former Nets guard Deron Williams recently told Bally Sports. “I hope everything gets figured out. But as far as my thoughts on Kyrie, he’s doing what’s best for him. I respect what he wants to do.”
Irving has not been sitting idly. According to people close to him, the seven-time All-Star has been working out pretty regularly, focusing on cardio, weight training and meditation, and spending time with his immediate family. “This is the happiest that I’ve seen Kyrie in years,” one source said.
