New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis will play Saturday night against the Brooklyn Nets after clearing the NBA's concussion protocol, Davis left the Pelicans' 112-111 loss to Houston on Monday after his head collided with teammate Tyreke Evans' elbow in the second quarter. He was sidelined for just one game, a nine-point win over Sacramento.
The Pelicans officially listed Davis as questionable to play for the game that will tip off 2:30 p.m. central. ''Obviously, he's just really sore,'' Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said after Saturday 's practice.''There's nothing there that's (structurally) damaged just a bruise. We'll just how to see how he feels. He fell really hard and hit on a piece of a chair that got him pretty good really. He took out a whole row there. We'll see how it goes.''
The Pelicans will face the Jazz in Salt Lake City on Saturday before heading back to New Orleans to host the Grizzlies on Tuesday. Gentry said Davis’s status for the Jazz game will be determined after further testing on Saturday. “We don’t know,” Gentry said of Davis. “It’s something that will have to be looked at [Saturday].”
Dan Woike: Pels bench clearly frustrated, probably upset w/ CP3 on the play. From where media sits, looked like a play that happens 10 times a game
