Mark Berman: Jason Terry asked why James Harden and Dwight Howard didn’t click this year: “Could be a contrast in styles. I think those two have to be put in a system where they have to learn to play together. I just think they’re two different styles. They just couldn’t co-exist to have success this year. It worked last year, but this year it was just different for some reason.”

Mark Medina: Frank Vogel on if LeBron James will play in any pre-season games: “We’ll see. We don’t want to underdo it where he’s not ready to play in real games. But we obviously don’t want to overdo it.”
Mike Trudell: Vogel said LAL have to keep their edge from last year, citing this goal: “Every time we’re on the floor, we’re playing harder than our opponent. Period. We’re caring more than our opponent. Period … that’s the No. 1 habit you can build in the regular season. Mindset of winning.”

James Ham: Fans will not be allowed to attend games at Golden 1 Center to start the 2020-21 season. The Kings will follow state and local guidelines.

Mike Trudell: Frank Vogel said that it’s too soon to decide upon a starting lineup, but he’s definitely going to give Dennis Schroder “strong consideration” to start. Vogel said Schroder is a great fit to play alongnside LeBron because he can be effective on and off the ball.
