Who would you compare your game to in the NBA? Ben Bentil: I model my game after Wilson Chandler, Draymond Green, Paul Millsap and Kevin Garnett.
Andy Larsen: Was really impressed talking with Thon Maker today at Jazz workout. "The player [the mixtape makers] envision is not the player I envision. The mixtape guy just shows lots of dunks and crossovers and fancy one hand passes. The other me I envision is more steady, controls the pace, gets teammates going, and is fundamentally sound, both offensively and defensively."
Adam Zagoria: 7-footer Thon Maker works out for Utah today and then Atlanta on Friday, source tells @SNYtv. Also has Detroit & Indiana w/in the next week.
A team first calls a player’s agent to set up a visit. Agents will determine when a player will visit and often what other players will compete against him. It is not uncommon for an agent to give teams a list of players with whom his client would like to work out. In the case of Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram, each player will make team visits but will likely not compete in a three-on-three setting.
Teams will have agents on speed dial when it comes to finalizing the draft workout. Starting in early May and leading up to the day of the draft, teams will operate on seven-day workweeks based on the availability of prospects. The first piece of the puzzle is getting a prospect to commit. The second piece is filling out the workout with prospects within the same skill level. Because players have been scouted heavily in five-on-five settings, the goal for the team is to get a player in their gym to get to know him better
Teams that put a lot of stock into the draft workout are often the ones that miss out on top prospects in the draft. It’s just not as important as the other parts of the evaluation process. The workout is more for the benefit of the coaching staff. Players will go through a one-hour, practice-like setting that will combine agility, shell drills, shooting and three-on-three. The true test of the prospect is not how skilled they are; it's their conditioning. Unlike a practice setting where there are 15 players, the draft workout is built on repetition with less rest.

He has not yet decided whether he will remain in the 2016 NBA Draft, and he has until May 25th to decide. He says he’ll lean heavily on his support system: uncle Boo Williams, aunt Terri Williams-Flournoy, and basketball trainer John Lucas. For now, he’s “50-50.” He has workouts scheduled with the Clippers (Wednesday), Lakers (Thursday), and Pelicans (May 23rd).
Marcus Lee has cancelled at least three workouts with NBA teams, including one scheduled for Tuesday, a league source told SNY.tv. It is unclear how many workouts the 6-foot-10 Lee had originally scheduled.
Lee said Friday he was still weighing his options regarding the NBA Draft and was unconcerned about a possible logjam in the Kentucky frontcourt should he return to campus. "I'm definitely weighing my options, it's definitely a process," Lee said on Friday at the NBA Draft Combine. "Once I get back home I'll be able to talk it through with my family and we'll figure it out from there. We'll kind of weigh the options and go from there knowing that there is a risk there in not knowing what might happen."
Kentucky guard Isaiah Briscoe will work out for the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday, his father told SNY.tv. Briscoe has had several other workouts, most recently with the Lakers. He has not hired an agent and has until May 25 to opt to return to campus or remain in the Draft.

After playing in the NBA Draft Combine last week, former Oklahoma point guard Isaiah Cousins is hoping to impress during individual NBA workouts beginning this week. The 6-foot-4 Mount Vernon, N.Y., native begins workouts on Tuesday with the Indiana Pacers. He was supposed to go against Maryland point guard Melo Trimble, but Trimble is no longer in the workout. Cousins will then work out this week for New Orleans and Denver before heading to San Antonio on Sunday. After that come workouts with Houston and Phoenix. "I'm definitely looking forward to that," Cousins, who led the Sooners to the Final Four in Houston, told me at the Combine. "[I'm looking to show] that I can play at the position as a point guard and just make plays and just go hard. "I just keep working hard and being humble."

Derek Bodner: Looks like Bryan Colangelo is open to have media availability for pre-draft workouts. He knows how to play the game.

Miami has earned the benefit of the doubt. It will have a stout, switchable defense even with Tucker gone. (The Heat have interest in Jae Crowder too, sources say, but finding matching salary is tough until Dewayne Dedmon, Caleb Martin and Victor Oladipo become trade-eligible in the winter. Martin might start, and the Heat are optimistic Oladipo can play a huge role.)
The Bucks have internal interest in Crowder as that Tucker replacement after getting into the recent Jerami Grant and Bojan Bogdanovic discussions, sources say. They will search all season for one more piece.
If Wednesday’s postgame words were any indication, he’ll hope respect begets respect and not demand anything from the referees. “I appreciate the refs,” Maxey said. “They’re great. They’ve been doing a great job. They’ve been tasked with a very hard job. A lot of our guys probably are tough on them. So they’re doing a great job and I have nothing but respect for every single ref in our league. “I just go out there and try to play hard, go to the rim, and sometimes draw contact, get to the line and help us move the scoreboard.”
