Tom Orsborn: David West has decided not to pick up option w/#Spurs, his agent said. “He hasn’t 100 % even decided to play,” Jeff Austin said.
Quixem Ramirez: First Spurs offseason dominos: Manu Ginobili ($2.9 million) and David West ($1.6 million) have until tomorrow to decide on their player options.
San Antonio Spurs forward David West has decided to decline his $1.5 million player option for 2016-17 and evaluate his playing future, league sources told The Vertical. [...] David West, 35, now faces a final decision on continuing his playing career, and would assuredly consider a return to the Spurs. The Spurs could give West a more lucrative deal depending on their free-agent pursuits.
Shams Charania: Spurs forward David West will decline his $1.55M player option for 2016-17 and evaluate playing future, league sources tell The Vertical.
Asked if he’s made a decision, or even thought about it, West followed Duncan’s formula – he’ll wait and listen. “I have no idea,” West told the Express-News. “I really just want to see what my body tells me when it’s all said and done. I think that’s the best way to put it. My body will tell me what to do and what direction I should go. … You (have) got to have the energy and the will to want to get after it again.”
West smiled when asked about going out on top should the Spurs win it all. He’ll be 36 before next season. West wants to do other things in his life, possibly entering the teaching professor at an HBCU (Historical Black Colleges and Universities). Unlike many, West has a choice with that player option at his disposal. The time will come to ponder what the next move is. Right now, there is more basketball to play. Said West: “I’m enjoying this right now. Just enjoying all the records, being able to be around these guys, and enjoying the opportunities I have.”
David Aldridge: Free agent forward David West has agreed to terms with the Spurs, per league sources.
Brian Windhorst: Cavs indeed have interest in David West. But LeBron James has no plans to communicate with anyone while still a free agent, sources said.
Adrian Wojnarowski: Spurs are aggressively pursuing free agent David West with a veteran minimum offer now, sources tell Yahoo Sports.
Candace Buckner: I'm hearing the Cleveland Cavaliers have "huge interest" in David West. Most definitely aligns with his desire to play for a contender
Marc Stein: ESPN sources say Wizards pushing hard to land David West. Would be nice rally to get both Jared Dudley and D-West after losing Paul Pierce
David Aldridge: Situation same as last night's reporting re: Wiz/David West. They'd love to use MLE 4 him, but he's scanning the post LaMarcus/Jordan field.
Marc Stein: ESPN sources say David West is most likely to wind up with one of two teams after leaving Indiana: San Antonio or Washington
David West is willing to put his money where his mouth is – even if he loses quite a bit of it in the process. According to a person with knowledge of his situation, the free agent forward who declined a $12.2 million player option to stay with the Indiana Pacers next season, has serious interest in playing for the San Antonio Spurs or the Golden State Warriors. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because of the private nature of the free agency process.
Steve Kyler: "At this point in my career, I just want to win," David West told WTHR.com's @bkravitz. "I'm just not sure the Pacers are in title contention right now. I'm going into my 13th season. I just don't know if the team is in the position to win right now and I didn't know if I'd have that opportunity to win a title. I don't want to be in a position where we're just fighting to make the playoffs. I want to be in a spot where we can legitimately taste the finals"
Bob Kravitz: Not the reason he left, but West was very annoyed at the way the Pacers, specifically Bird, took shots at Hibbert during post-season presser
Marc Stein: Hearing that the Knicks -- besides presumed free agent targets such as L-Aldridge/G-Monroe/D-Carroll -- will get a meeting with David West. How far Knicks go with David West obviously depends on how far they get with other targets, but he's said to be serious name on their board
Jared Zwerling: League source: David West is "very likely" to sign with the Knicks come FA. "He knew that before he chose not to opt in" with the Pacers.
Candace Buckner: Just confirmed thru another league source: Once again, D West is NOT picking up option w/ #Pacers. Source said West made up mind yesterday. West not picking up $12.6 M clearly means this was not a money decision. He turns 35 in August, but still has “passion” to play, per source
Jared Zwerling: As Greg Monroe is a top choice for NY, I'm told, will be intrigue w/ David West. Tough leader NY needs, plays 4. Melo/West/Monroe frontline?
Candace Buckner: Just in: Heard from my source that David West will not exercise his player option and will become a free agent. Story coming soon.

Andrew Wiggins has no illusions about how some Timberwolves fans may view the five-plus seasons Wiggins spent in Minnesota — that some wanted more out of his time here than just one playoff appearance after the Wolves traded for the 2014 No. 1 overall pick in the summer he was drafted. If ever fans wondered if Wiggins heard the jeers along with the cheers: he did. “Shoot, they probably got a lot of mixed feelings,” Wiggins said in a recent interview with the Star Tribune. “So it is what it is over there. Some might love me. Some might hate me.”
As Wiggins gets ready to face his former team for the first time Monday, he harbors no ill will toward fans, the franchise or President Gersson Rosas for trading him. In fact, he sounded thankful for the fresh start — and recognized that maybe he wasn’t the ideal fit to play with Towns that Russell could be.
