Eric Pincus: Added Harrison Barnes' actual to Dallas Mavericks - 8% trade bonus, PO, standard raises $94.4 mil @BBallInsiders http://bit.ly/29u9obr
So we started this episode talking about the usual good Warriors things–I asked Barnes about his recent shooting slump, about his season, about his pending restricted free agency and yes, about the speculation (by me, among others) that the Warriors want to replace him with Kevin Durant, if possible, this summer.
Harrison Barnes on trade rumors: It was after my first year... When Dwight was thinking about leaving? It's funny. Bogut texted me and asked me 'Are we going to L.A.?' We joked about that. Last summer was the Kevin Love thing. 'Is he gonna come here?' Me and David Lee were joking about the fact that we might have to buy a lot of winter clothes. (...) We're in a great, great team and this is a place where people want to play now. You don't really get too personal about it. That's how the business goes.
Harrison Barnes has fans within the Timberwolves organization, as Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN Twin Cities says in a podcast, though it’s not entirely certain that Minnesota will pursue the soon-to-be restricted free agent. Barnes engendered an “undercurrent of disenchantment” within the Warriors when he stayed for as long as he did with a sprained ankle that prompted him to miss 16 games this season, as Monte Poole of CSNBayArea.com reported earlier. Wolves GM Milt Newton has no guarantee of running the team’s front office beyond this season after inheriting the authority from the late Flip Saunders.
Q: This team always seems to be involved pursuing big name players and your name has been involved as a trade chip and next year there might be more of that, with your name involved. How much of this is that you have more control of your future as a restricted free agent? Harrison Barnes: It’s been a roller coaster in terms of that since I got here–you know, Dwight Howard, Kevin Love… So now we’ve won a championship. The Warriors, it’s a desirable destination. So it would be nothing new, come to this next season with more big names and the Warriors are potentially trying to sign those guys.

Shams Charania: New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson is nearing a five-year rookie max contract extension worth up to $231 million, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. The commitment will take Williamson’s new deal through the 2027-28 season.
Shams Charania: Williamson said after the season ended, “I couldn’t sign it fast enough.” Indeed, the All-Star locks in commitment to New Orleans. The deal is expected to include protections that both sides were sorting through overnight and will finalize, sources said.
Kevin Durant appears to have the Phoenix Suns atop his wish list following his trade request from the Brooklyn Nets. “Phoenix is the place he wants to go, I feel reasonably confident of that,” said Brian Windhorst on his podcast. “I think Miami is second. What I’m not confident over is that Phoenix is going to be able to give Brooklyn what they want. And I’m also not confident in what Brooklyn is going to prioritize.”
Tim Bontemps interjected that he expects Durant to end up with the Suns. “If you look at these trade, there’s a nexus point between what the player wants and the team wants,” said Bontemps. “Kevin Durant would like to play for the Suns. We can all agree on that. The Phoenix Suns also have a lot of stuff the Brooklyn Nets would want. They’re not going to get Devin Booker in this trade, but they’ve got Mikal Bridges, they’ve got Deandre Ayton they can put in a sign-and-trade, and they have Cam Johnson.”

Bobby Marks: Signing notes from Day 1: Extensions for Thaddeus Young (TOR) and Gary Harris (ORL). Young is partially guaranteed in year 2 and Harris has no protection in the second year. Because it was an extension and for 2 years or less, there is no trade restriction for either player.
According to El Mundo Deportivo, 35-year-old point guard will sign a 1+1 contract with Real Madrid, where he played for six years, from 2010 until 2016. The return of Sergio Rodríguez is the first move Real Madrid has made for next season. The player had a renewal offer from AX Armani Exchange Milan, but, after six years away from Spain (one with the Philadelphia 76ers, two with CSKA Moscow and three with Armani), he has prioritized returning to Madrid with his family.
Mychelle Johnson (Miles Bridges’ wife): I hate that it has come to this but I can’t be silent anymore. I’ve allowed someone to destroy my home, abuse me in every way possible and traumatize our kids for life. I have nothing to prove to the world, but I won’t allow anyone who could do something so horrible to have no remorse and paint a picture of something I’m not. I won’t allow the people around him to continue to silence me and continue to lie to protect this person. It’s unethical, it’s immoral, it’s truly SICK. It hurts my heart because I’ve always had hope, and so much love and as scary as this is for me to do it’s time I stand up for myself. I won’t be silent to protect others anymore because I value myself and my kids more than anyones ‘image’.… a fracture nose, wrist, torn eardrum, torn muscles in my neck from being choked until i went to sleep and a severe concussion. I don’t need sympathy, I just don’t want this happening to anyone else, I just want this person to get help, my kids deserve better. That’s all i want. It hurts, everything hurts, this situation hurts, most importantly I’m scared and hurting for my kids who were witness to everything. Please respect my families privacy and stop with the disgusting rumors and allegations.
