“Of course it’s like a really sad thing because like, I mean because you’re letting your teammates down when you make a mistake like that,” Kanter said. “I mean your coaches down and stuff. But the only thing you can do is just, you know, you learn from it. The one thing you know I wish we could go back time and then I could take it back. But mistake happens and we just got to learn from it and control your emotions.”

Pistons add Buddy Boeheim
Omari Sankofa II: Pistons announce they’ve signed Buddy Boeheim to a two-way deal.

To be clear: There is untapped potential with both former first-round picks. Walker shot 33.2 percent on catch-and-shoot 3s last season, but he shot better than 38 percent on catch-and-shoot 3s in 2019-20 and 2020-21. Brown made 36.3 percent of his catch-and-shoot 3s last season, though he’s also had two seasons in which he shot worse than 32.2 percent (and one where he shot above 39 percent). The LeBron Bump is real. There is a long list of shooters who’ve had career seasons playing alongside James.
