Tim MacMahon: Taj Gibson on Karl-Anthony Towns: “He’s learning from these games. He’s still only 22 years old, so we can’t put too much pressure on him. We understand this is a big step for him. We’re just going to keep helping him, I’m going to keep helping him and keep pushing forward.”
Jerry Zgoda: Jimmy Butler: “We’re still playing for something. Hell, it’s the first one to four games. We’re only down 0-2. So I’m smiling, everybody’s OK…Don’t pay attention to what everybody says, you pay attention to what goes on in there with those guys who are with you every single day.”
Jimmy Butler (12.0 ppg in this series) is dealing with a sore right wrist he refuses to discuss in addition to coming off of knee surgery. “Nobody really cares if you’re nicked up. If you put on that jersey and go out there and play, you’ve got to produce. You’ve got to do what they got you here to do. So 40, 50, 95, 100 [percent], I’m out there playing. Nobody cares if I’m nicked up or not.”
