More on Danny Green Injury
Although Danny Green said he is ready to play in Wednesday night’s outing against the Kings, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich suggested the shooting guard’s status would be a game-time decision. Asked if Green was good to go after the Spurs listed him as questionable with a sore groin, Popovich said, “I think so, but I’m not sure yet.” Popovich kept Green on the bench for the second half of Monday’s win over Miami after he suffered the injury in the first half.

“Jon (Jonathon Simmons), will probably miss a few days, maybe,” said Popovich. “Danny will be weeks.” The Spurs officially announced Green has been diagnosed with a left quad strain and he’s expected to miss approximately three weeks of play.

Danny Green’s quest to bounce back from last season’s sub-par shooting performance has been put on hold due to a minor injury. A bruised left thigh forced the Spurs’ starting shooting guard to sit out the first training camp practice Tuesday morning and also an evening session. Green suffered the injury during open-gym workouts last week, a team spokesman said. Although it’s not considered serious, the ailment is expected to sideline him for a few days.
