Though plenty of teams are looking to add a wing player or two in this year's draft, there are some valuable big men to consider, with Villanova University Omari Spellman in the mix. League sources told the Express-News the Spurs are targeting Spellman for a second workout before next Thursday's NBA Draft. The freshman forward averaged 10.9 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in his only season at Villanova, helping the Wildcats capture their second NCAA men's basketball championship in three years while also being named Big East Rookie of the Year.

Eddie Sefko: Mavericks have seen workouts from Wendell Carter Jr. and everybody else slotted from 2 to 11. Or will see them work out individually if haven’t already. Moving up or down still not out of the question. Memphis, Orlando and Chicago also in the move market. 1 week to sort it out.
He's seen and experienced a lot of basketball, and sees big time stardom for Young. "His instincts are incredible," says Strickland. "He can shoot the ball, has range, but doesn't always have to be on the ball with the way the game is now with the spacing. He's going to space the court, has a quick release, can shoot off ball screens, spot up and shoot it, big time range. The court opens up after you leave college and I think he has the talent and skill level."
Michael Cunningham: There was a report that you had a great workout with the Suns. How do you think this workout compares? Jaren Jackson Jr.: I think this was a great workout. It was probably different. We just did different things. I thought I shot well. Got up and down a little bit. It wasn’t nothing too taxing but it was an hour and we focused ona lot of things, like more intricate parts of he game, like where I would get shots instead of a normal camp-type workout.

Tania Ganguli: Arizona’s Rawle Alkins had a workout with the Warriors yesterday, post parade. He ran into Jordan Bell, who he knew from playing against him in college. “He’s different now. He’s turning up now. But he’s a champ so he can do that.” Alkins worked out for the Lakers today.

Wednesday will mark the third straight day of working out prospects for the June 21 draft and possible candidates for their summer-league team and NBA G-League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats. “I don’t think it’s going to change much, to be honest with you,” said Marc Eversley, the Sixers vice president for player personnel. “All of our scouts have been on staff here for the past two years. I’ve been here for the last two years. “You know, we’re in a position where we feel we are going to be able … to select somebody who’s going to be able to come in and help us contribute.”
Eversley said no specific person will have the final decision on draft night. “It will be a group decision,” he said. “Whether that’s the owners – Josh [Harris] and David [Blitzer], Coach Brown; the scouts have been a big part of that the last two years. It’s really going to be a collaborative effort.”

New York interviewed Walker in Chicago at the Draft Combine and attended his Pro Day. Opposing executives believe that Walker is one of several players in consideration to be selected at No. 9 by the Knicks. For more on Walker, check out ESPN's draft coverage.

Holiday, the younger brother of Jrue and Justin Holiday, was a prolific scorer last season as a Bruin. The guard, who averaged 20.3 points and 5.8 assists last season, is currently projected as the 19th pick in ESPN's latest mock draft. The Cavs have the eighth pick, and are excited about the possibility of using that slot to maybe draft someone who was supposed to be No. 1, sources said, but he is not the only player under consideration. For instance, Collin Sexton, the point guard from Alabama, worked out with the Cavs Saturday and owner Dan Gilbert tweeted that he was a "very intriguing draft prospect."

As Wes Unseld Jr. typically does after victories, he checked in with each player in the locker room. Often Unseld merely bumps fists with a player at that player’s locker, pats him on the back or says something along the lines of “good job.” But after the Wizards beat the Dallas Mavericks 120-114, with Bradley Beal playing a decisive role, Unseld had a specific message for his star.
Unseld wanted Beal to know Beal outdid himself this time — putting the team first by consistently making the “right” basketball play instead of trying to win the game all on his own. The scene illustrated the difficult adjustment Beal is trying to make, and it also showed how much Unseld appreciates his star’s efforts to make that adjustment.
“It’s a total mental transition from last year,” Beal said. “My mentality, obviously, was I had to score in order for us to be in games last year. For us to be in a game, not win a game. But to actually be competitive in a game, I had to score a lot of points. It’s not like that this year, and I have to take that mindset back at times.”
With reports that Jokic’s brothers are going to the Monday match after buying tickets, Heat veteran Udonis Haslem recently issued a stern warning to them. “I have nothing to do with that, man,” Haslem said to the Miami Herald. “We’re going to play a basketball game. “That’s over with. I don’t have nothing to do with that. I keep hearing about the Jokic brothers buying tickets to come to the game. They better stay in line and don’t come down there and start trouble. Miami is my city. It’s my city.”
Haslem has already expressed his respect for Jokic and a desire to move on from the issue. He reiterated that the Heat will go to play basketball, and that Jokic’s siblings should just enjoy the game and go home afterwards if they do intend to attend. “What the hell you buying tickets for?” Haslem continued. “To come do what? That’s my city. Don’t start nothing, won’t be nothing. Come enjoy the game and take your [butts] home. Ain’t nobody messing with your brother. We come to play basketball.”
Curry also seemed fired up to show he can excel on defense, too. After fielding criticism about his defense for most of his 13-year NBA career, Curry impressed the Warriors so much with his six steals, eight deflections and overall hustle that they acknowledged viewing him more as a defensive asset than a liability. “He’s one of the best defenders we have on our team now,” said Warriors forward Draymond Green, who is an early candidate to collect his second Defensive Player of the Year honor this season. “It’s beautiful to watch. When he’s giving the type of effort that he gives on that side of the floor, everyone else has to follow. It makes our defense that much better.”
