Former Gonzaga Bulldog Kyle Wiltjer tweeted Monday that he’s joining the Portland Trail Blazers’ summer league team. Wiltjer, a native of Portland, tweeted he’s “hyped cuz it’s the hometown squad.” Las Vegas is hosting the NBA summer league for all 30 teams July 6-17.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will add power forward Billy Preston to their summer league roster, sources told ESPN. Preston, who is 6-foot-10, was a five-star recruit and McDonald's All-American in 2017. Known for his athleticism and scoring talent, he committed to Kansas and was once projected as high as a mid-second-round NBA draft pick by ESPN.
Illawarra Hawks recruit Emmett Naar will be heading to the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, linking up with the Phoenix Suns for the off-season showcase. Naar will team up with the #1 pick from the 2018 draft, Deandre Ayton, as the Suns open up their Summer League campaign against the Dallas Mavericks on July 6, followed by games against Sacramento and Orlando.

A pair of former Indiana basketball players found NBA Summer League homes Saturday. Robert Johnson will play for the Atlanta Hawks, while James Blackmon Jr. will play for the Milwaukee Bucks. Johnson was not selected in the NBA Draft on Thursday, but will play in the summer league beginning July 6 in Las Vegas. He is 21st in scoring all-time at Indiana and was a four-year starter.
The Milwaukee Bucks have added a two-time America East player of the year to their herd for the summer. Former University of Vermont star Trae Bell-Haynes received an invite from the franchise to join its NBA Summer League squad in Las Vegas next month. Bell-Haynes, who led the Catamounts to a 27-8 record and NIT appearance in his final season, was one of 40 players invited to the NBA Global Camp, a pre-draft showcase, in Italy earlier this month.

In July, Sanon will get his first taste of the NBA when he joins the Wizards’ Summer League team in Las Vegas, along with the 15th pick, Troy Brown Jr. However, after the experience, Sanon will return to Slovenia to continue playing overseas. The Wizards plan to develop him similarly to Tomas Satoransky, a second-round draft pick in 2012 who remained with his European team for several seasons before coming to the NBA.
