By waiving Williams, that process stats immediately. So what exactly are the Mavericks expecting from Ferrell, who turns 24 on May 9? “Continued improvement, continued aggression, continue to get integrated more and more into the mentality we like to play with,’’ coach Rick Carlisle said. “He’s going to have a lot of tough defensive assignments along the way. “There’s a lot of good players coming in at the point guard position, and he’s going to have the responsibility of playing those guys, at least why he’s a starter.”
“He’s on pace to have one of the greatest 10 days of all time,” forward Harrison Barnes said. “He’s just playing with so much heart. And offensively and defensively, he’s had some tough match-ups. But he’s brought it every single night and the guy is giving us a chance.”

The Brooklyn Nets have requested waivers on Yogi Ferrell. Ferrell, who originally signed with Brooklyn on August 5, appeared in three preseason games with the Nets, recording averages of 4.3 points and 1.7 assists in 9.6 minutes per game.
