Harrison Wind: Gary Harris (left hamstring strain) is questionable for tomorrow’s preseason opener vs Lakers. Isaiah Thomas (right hip surgery), Michael Porter Jr (low back surgery), Jarred Vanderbilt (right foot surgery) are all out.
Harrison Wind: Nuggets coach Michael Malone on @Altitude950 says Gary Harris asked to come off the bench last night when he returned from an 11-game absence so Will Barton can continue to start at shooting guard.
Gina Mizell: Michael Malone says during his pregame availability that as long as training staff gives final thumbs up, Gary Harris WILL play tonight. Will come off the bench and play 16-22 minutes. #Nuggets
Adrian Wojnarowski: Denver Nuggets guard Gary Harris (right knee sprain) is likely to return vs. Portland tonight, league sources tell ESPN. He's missed 11 consecutive games with injury.
Harrison Wind: Also hearing the Nuggets are hopeful that Gary Harris (right knee sprain/strain) will return tonight vs. Blazers. He’s missed Denver’s past 11 games and Denver went 7-4 without him. The Nuggets didn’t have his services for the entirety of their recent seven-game road trip.
Nuggets’ second-leading scorer Gary Harris, who has missed the past 11 games with a right knee sprain/strain, has been upgraded from doubtful to questionable play in Monday’s home finale against Portland on the team’s official injury report released Monday morning. Harris, who is averaging 17.7 points and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 39.9 percent from 3-point range, sustained the injury when he landed awkwardly on his right leg after being fouled on a made dunk late in the fourth quarter of a March 15 home win against Detroit. The timetable for his return has consistently been pushed back throughout his recovery.
Nuggets’ second-leading scorer Gary Harris, who has missed the past 11 games with a right knee sprain/strain, has been upgraded from out to doubtful to play in Monday’s home finale against Portland on the team’s official injury report released Sunday afternoon.
Gina Mizell: This is the most I’ve seen Gary Harris run during the pregame work he’s been doing the past couple weeks while out with a knee injury. He’s about to miss his 11th consecutive game.
Gina Mizell: No surprise, but #Nuggets Gary Harris (knee) is officially listed as OUT for tomorrow's game at the Clippers. Michael Malone said last night that Monday vs. Portland was likely "best-case sceanrio" for Harris to return, though that timetable has already moved back several times.
Harrison Wind: Nuggets coach Michael Malone says Gary Harris will likely miss Saturday’s matchup against the Clippers. Best-case scenario is Monday vs. Portland.
Harrison Wind: Nuggets coach Michael Malone says Gary Harris (right knee strain/sprain) is still 2-3 games away from returning.
Harrison Wind: As expected, Gary Harris (right knee sprain/strain) will miss his eighth straight game Sunday vs. Bucks.
Gina Mizell: Michael Malone now says that Gary Harris (right knee) might not play for another week or so. Obviously running out of time in the regular season. #Nuggets
Chris Dempsey: Two quick injury updates: Devin Harris (ankle) is probable to play tonight vs. Toronto. Gary Harris (knee) is out #Nuggets
Duvalier Johnson: In pregame, Malone says he’s unsure when Gary Harris is coming back as he’s not even walking normal yet. #Nuggets
Thankfully, the Basketball Gods were kind to Harris and the Nuggets. A source within the Nuggets organization has told Mile High Sports that Harris’ MRI only showed a small sprain or strain in a small ligament in his knee.
Pair that with Harris’ X-ray results coming back negative and it seems as if the Nuggets and Harris both dodged quite the bullet. Two separate sources told Mile High Sports the exact same thing; “it’s the best news we could have hoped for”.
Harrison Wind: Gary Harris isn’t sure what his injury is, says knee is a little sore. Not sure if he’ll play Saturday in Memphis. MRI tomorrow will determine his status. He limped out of the locker room under his own power.
Harrison Wind: [Gary Harris will] go for an MRI tomorrow. Paul Millsap said the Nuggets’ locker room is “very concerned.”
Harrison Wind: Nuggets coach Michael Malone says Gary Harris (ankle) will play tonight. Hurt it last game vs Spurs.
Harrison Wind: Nuggets will try to keep Gary Harris’ minutes in the low 30’s tonight vs Mavs. He’s still bothered by a right foot injury. Malone says he went over his minutes limit vs Knicks.
Gina Mizell: #Nuggets coach Michael Malone said Gary Harris’ foot injury happened in Friday’s loss at Phoenix and that he aggravated it while chasing CJ McCollum around during Monday’s win over Portland. Status for tonight vs. Knicks still TBD.
Harrison Wind: Gary Harris (right elbow contusion) set to return to Nuggets' lineup tonight in Portland (8 p.m. MST) barring a setback in pregame warmups. Harris missed Denver's loss on Wednesday vs. Minnesota @BSNDenver
Gina Mizell: Gary Harris (elbow contusion) said he was able to go through parts of shootaround and it’ll be determined after pregame warm-ups if he’s able to go against Minnesota. Said neck is still sore after nasty fall in OKC but that he’s NOT going through concussion protocol. #Nuggets
Harrison Wind: Nuggets listing Gary Harris (right shoulder soreness) as questionable for Friday vs NOLA. Denver and head coach Michael Malone expect Harris to play.
Denver Nuggets starting shooting guard Gary Harris said following Wednesday’s practice that he wants to play Friday against the New Orleans Pelicans, after missing the past two games with right shoulder soreness. “It’s just getting back playing with contact and getting comfortable with everything,” Harris said.
Gina Mizell: Gary Harris (shoulder) is out tonight against Orlando. Will Barton will start in his place. #Nuggets
Harrison Wind: Juancho Hernangomez (mono) has been upgraded to questionable for tonight’s game vs Magic. Gary Harris (right shoulder soreness) is also questionable.
Nuggets guard Gary Harris was in a walking boot Friday, in these early days of a right foot injury that he suffered last Saturday against Detroit. And he’ll be out for a while, as some details get clearer about his expected time away from the team. Harris’ timeline is at least four weeks out, not up to four weeks, according to league sources. And he won’t need surgery, so it’s a situation where he’ll receive daily treatment in order to get well.
Chris Dempsey: Gary Harris (foot) could be out up to 4 weeks, #Nuggets coach Michael Malone said. Big big blow.
The issue is getting both players through a full practice with no setbacks. To this point, both Harris and Arthur have gone through most of a couple of recent practices but not all of them. Until they do, Nuggets coach Michael Malone said he’ll be hesitant at best about putting them in the game. Malone on Harris: “It’s good to see him on the court (Friday). And as is always the case, how does he feel the next day. He’s just not there yet. So he’s still out.”
“I wanted to play today, I wanted to,” he said. “So we’ll just see. I want to get back out there as soon as possible, especially after practicing Tuesday. I felt pretty good. We’ll see how it goes. I trust (the training staff), they’re going to make sure I’m right. I want to come back, be 100 percent and be good to go.” Meanwhile, Arthur has experienced a couple of small setbacks in his recovery from arthroscopic knee surgery. He experienced some swelling in the knee after Monday’s practice and had a treatment day on Tuesday. “I think I’m day-by-day right now,” Arthur said.
Optimistic estimates on his return by Nuggets coach Michael Malone put Harris’ return right around the start of the regular season on Oct. 26. Harris wouldn’t rule it out, but wasn’t confirming that as a target date, either. “I’m just going day by day, just trying to get better each day,” Harris said. “That’s two weeks down the road: We’ll see. I’m just trying to get better each day.”
Nuggets coach Michael Malone said Gary Harris’ right groin strain may keep him out “a couple of weeks” but is expecting to have the shooting guard for the season opener. Harris met with team doctors on Wednesday to nail down the best course of action for recovery.
Adrian Wojnarowski: Denver Nuggets guard Gary Harris is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks with a partially torn groin muscle, league sources tell @The Vertical.
Harrison Wind: From Nuggets practice: Malone does not anticipate Gary Harris back for a "at least a couple of weeks." MRI confirmed a right groin strain.

Christos Tsaltas: Asked Erik Spoelstra on how Draymond Green’s comment motivated the Heat locker room. “I don’t know. Each person can find different forms of motivation. We have a big audacious goal that’s motivating enough”, he said. #HEATCulture
Brady Hawk: Erik Spoelstra on what stuck out from the film of Jimmy Butler’s 47 last night: “He was just extremely efficient and fundamental. I think that’s one of the most underrated parts of his game.”
Ira Winderman: Officiating errors cited by NBA in last two minutes of Friday’s Heat-Celtics: — Two uncalled 3-second violations on Adebayo. — Two fouls on Celtics’ White that should not have been called. — An uncalled Tatum travel. — An uncalled Celtics 5-second inbound violation.

Zion Williamson said he’d sign a contract extension if the Pelicans offer this offseason: “Of course, I couldn’t sign it fast enough.” Pelicans lead executive David Griffin said not so fast. Brian Windhorst of ESPN: From what I have been told, the Pelicans, at this point, are not willing to offer a full five-year guaranteed deal. And a lot of it is flowing down from ownership. Gayle Benson, the owner, is also the owner of the New Orleans Saints. And I have been told they’re going to take a football-style, Saints-style mentality with this contract negotiation. They will offer him a huge contract but will not guarantee all of it.
Quinton Mayo: Wizards third-year forward, Deni Avdija will be training with NBA skills coach @DrewHanlen for a few weeks this off-season, sources tell me. Some notable full time clients of Hanlen’s are Joel Embiid, Bradley Beal, Jayson Tatum, Zach LaVine, Jordan Clarkson & RJ Barrett. 1/
