Brian Robb: Jaylen Brown on the possibility of coming off the bench when he returns to lineup: "Possibly, especially if we are winning. Whatever it is that needs to be done to figure it out."
Jared Weiss: Jaylen says this injury isn’t nearly as bad as previous ones, but he’s been having some back spasms after the injury. Says it’s been getting better the last few days and will test it out tomorrow.
Tom Westerholm: Jaylen Brown: “If it was a list of injuries that everybody’s dealing with in the NBA, I’d probably pick mine over a lot of the other ones. So I’ll be back soon, just want to make sure I’m healthy and be back to help the team win."
A. Sherrod Blakely: Jaylen Brown (back) will not play tonight, but #Celtics Brad Stevens said he has not been ruled out for tomorrow night's game at Minnesota.
Gary Washburn: Marcus Smart will start in place of Jaylen Brown #Celtics

Mark Murphy: Jaylen Brown will play tonight.
Sean Grande: Jaylen Brown definitely out tonight vs. Milwaukee.
Boston Celtics wing Jaylen Brown is questionable for Thursday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks, and Brad Stevens said he isn't certain how likely Brown will be to play. "They're going to go next door to an orthotics specialist and talk to him a little bit about it, if there's something they can do," Stevens said at Celtics shootaround. "Otherwise, he didn't go through much this morning, so I don't know how likely it would be that he would play."
Still, Brown said he's hopeful the issue won't linger. "I don't think it's anything that's going to keep me out long-term, I just have to manage it properly, keep it from flaring up," Brown said. "I definitely want to be on the floor as much as possible and continue to stay in rhythm, because it's going to be a challenge all year to staying in rhythm. Hopefully I'll be able to feel a lot better tomorrow, closer to 100 percent. ... "It's pain across the foot, so any time I put pressure down, when I take off or run, I feel pain shoot around the foot. If it was a playoff game, I'd definitely be trying to play through it, but the concern is we have an 82-game season, so they are kind of reeling me back. But we'll see how it goes."
Adam Himmelsbach: Stevens on Jaylen hamstring: “He’s great. I was told he can’t play 48 today so I’ll try to heed that advice.”
Chris Forsberg: Jaylen Brown checks in, gets a standing ovation from the Garden crowd.

Chris Forsberg: Jaylen Brown remains doubtful for Game 2. He did not practice Wednesday. He’s on court now doing light shooting but Brad Stevens uncertain how much he’ll do in walkthrough.
Mark Murphy: The caution with Jaylen Brown's tender hamstring is understandable. Brad Stevens: "The reason you’ve got to go through all these tests and do all this is to run around screens with JJ Redick, which, to be honest, is a different challenge from most everything else in the league,"
Tom Westerholm: Per Celtics PR, Jaylen Brown is still doubtful for tomorrow.
Scott Souza: Injured #Celtics Kyrie Irving, Jaylen Brown both on bench supporting C's tonight for Game 1.
Jared Weiss: Jaylen Brown officially out for Game 1 tonight.
Bill Doyle: Jaylen Brown just walked slowly through locker room with slight limp. Still no word on if he’ll play tonight.
A. Sherrod Blakely: The #Celtics Jaylen Brown said no decision has been made yet on whether he will play tonight.
Jared Weiss: Stevens says Jaylen Brown remains doubtful and Marcus Smart will start if he remains out.
Stevens wouldn't reveal who might start in Brown's place if he's unable to go. "We could go either Marcus [Morris or Smart] staring, we could keep Semi [Ojeleye] in there, or Shane [Larkin]," said Stevens. "We've got to fill out one more spot, so we'll do that. We'll decide that," after Monday's morning shootaround.
Jared Weiss: Jaylen Brown still trying to play bit his right hammy is cramping up and he is hobbling. Boston is taking him out and Stevens is screaming for a foul. He's going to the locker room.

Sean Grande: Marcus Morris and Al Horford will both return tonight. Jaylen Brown (toe) will play. Shane Larkin (ill) is out.

Marc D'Amico: #NEBHInjuryReport: Jaylen Brown is back and will start tonight against the Kings. Marcus Morris is out with a sprained ankle but should “be back sooner rather than later,” says Brad Stevens.
Adam Himmelsbach: Brad Stevens said Jaylen Brown got through this afternoon's workout without any issues. "He went hard and stayed after we left for another half-hour, hour. But felt pretty good and we’ll see how he feels tomorrow."
Jaylen Brown has missed the last five games while recovering from the injury, and on Thursday he spoke with reporters for the first time since the scary fall. "I remember slipping off the rim," Brown said. "I remember waking up and there was a bunch of people standing around me. And I was like, 'What the hell is going on?' I had no idea I had been, like, out for like 30 seconds or whatever they said I was out for. "I just remember waking up and there was a bunch of people around me. And I tried to get up and they were like, 'Whoa, whoa, whoa!' And I was like, 'What's the big deal?' And that's all I remember, to be honest."

Gary Washburn: #Celtics just announce that Jaylen Brown has been placed in concussion protocol. He is out indefinitely.
Jared Weiss: Jaylen Brown was doing well today when he came into the facility to see the doctor, according to a source. Celtics announce he has been placed in the concussion protocol.
Jaylen Brown: Appreciate everybody I'm ok .. Got a headache tho 🤕 good team win !!
When his 6-foot-7-inch, 225-pound frame thudded to the ground, the noise reverberated to the other side of the arena, and probably could be heard in the upper reaches, too. Brown initially appeared in shock. His arms were somewhat awkwardly held in front of him, and he kept blinking. But he did not move or talk. Celtics medical staffers rushed to him and immediately instructed him to stay down. Forward Al Horford sat a few feet away, hoping his teammate would know he was there.
Brad Stevens once coached a player who collided with a stanchion and then lost movement, and that was what he thought about as he watched Brown. The Timberwolves wheeled a stretcher onto the court, but it turned out Brown would not need it. After a few minutes, he sat up. And then about 30 seconds after that, he stood and walked to the locker room as he received a standing ovation from the Minnesota fans.
Nick Friedell: Jaylen Brown just hit hard on the floor after a dunk -- that looked a lot like Kris Dunn's nasty fall last month.
Steve Bulpett: As soon as Jaylen Brown hit the floor, Al Horford rushed over to make sure he stayed still. Marcus Smart kneeled in seeming prayer over by the Celtic sideline.
Nick Friedell: Brown is sitting up. He has gotten to his feet and is walking back to the locker room. Standing ovation here in Minneapolis.

A. Sherrod Blakely: The #Celtics Marcus Smart will start for Jaylen Brown who is out with leg injury. Also, no Marcus Morris (left knee) or Semi Ojeleye (back).
Scott Souza: Jaylen Brown seems to have aggravated his Achilles strain on that Markieff Morris put-back.
Jared Weiss: Stevens has no update on Jaylen Brown, who left the game early limping on his right leg.
Scott Souza: #Celtics coach Brad Stevens confirms Jaylen Brown expected to return for C's tonight.
Marc D'Amico: #NEBHInjuryReport for tonight in NY: Jaylen Brown - QUESTIONABLE (left Achilles soreness) Shane Larkin - OUT (left knee soreness) Marcus Morris - OUT (left knee rehab)
Jared Weiss: Jaylen on ditching the glasses: "I haven’t been able to find any comfort really with the glasses, so I was just like, ‘F it,’ and took them off. My eye’s still blurry. Everything’s still blurry. I don’t have very good vision, but at least it’s like, more consistent."
Jared Weiss: Jaylen Brown is going to talk to the doctor to get his eyes evaluated & figure out an alternative to his glasses. Says he can’t wear contacts all the time now, but glasses weren’t working for him. “It gets smeared and then I can’t see at all. So I might as well take my chances."
Marc D'Amico: Jaylen Brown (eye) will play tonight, according to Brad Stevens. Marcus Morris (knee) will go through his pre-game warmups with the hope of playing. #NEBHInjuryReport

Scott Souza: #Celtics Brad Stevens: Jaylen Brown "bumped knees" in third quarter, was cleared to return. Early indication he's OK.

Suns GM believes Deandre Ayton will be back

Jones told Burns & Gambo on Wednesday that he believes Deandre Ayton will be back with the Suns next season. “Deandre had an amazing season and he’s progressed every year and improved every year,” the GM said. “He’s been here and so he’s a big part of what we do. His future with us is something we will address at the proper time which is in the future. He’s a free agent and I’ve said all along, he’s about the same things we’re about which is winning. We’ll address it at the proper time.”
Do you believe that Deandre wants to be back with the Phoenix Suns? James Jones: I do. Deandre is a big part of what we do. That goes without saying.
On possible supermax deal for Devin Booker and rookie extension for Cam Johnson. If Booker makes All-NBA this year, he’ll be eligible for a four-year deal worth $211 million while Johnson is up for a rookie extension heading into his fourth NBA season: James Jones: “That’s a part of the business. As your team improves, typically your payroll increases. We’re focused on improving the team and those guys, they deserve the credit. They deserve the accolades and the financial rewards that come with being good players and productive players. It doesn’t preclude us from doing anything. We’re not talking about a luxury tax issues or avoiding those things. That’s not something that’s going to prevent us from continuing to build this team and keep this team together.”

“Had a great year, just one of those nights,” said O’Neal as Ayton finished in Sunday’s Game 7 against Dallas with a career playoff-low five points on 2-of-5 shooting. “Phoenix had a great year, just one of those nights. This is a classy organization. This is a classy team. Can’t say bad things about them. They played hard. Again, even great players have one of those nights.” O’Neal, and fellow TNT NBA analysts Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley discussed Ayton’s future with the Suns after the top overall seed was eliminated by the Dallas Mavericks in Sunday’s Game 7 in Phoenix. “You’ve got to re-sign Ayton,” Barkley said.
“(McGee) played well, he was a great addition to the team, but it all hinges on Deandre Ayton,” Barkley said. “It’s him and Booker. They are the guys going forward. Chris is going to be 38 (years old). He’s going to get the ball to the right person, but it’s time for Booker and Ayton. You can’t have a bad game like they did. Chris, he had a tough night, but Ayton and Booker, they’ve got to play well.”
Warriors crush Mavericks to take 1-0 lead in Western Finals

Once Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson slowed down, caught their breath and stopped rushing shots, the Splash Brothers got on a roll that proved too much for Dallas to stop. Especially because Andrew Wiggins worked end to end to make sure Luka Doncic couldn’t get going. Curry had 21 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, Golden State held Doncic in check and the Warriors beat the Mavericks 112-87 on Wednesday night for a 1-0 lead in the Western Conference finals. “Just make him work, that was the main thing,” Wiggins said.
Doncic scored 20 points but shot just 6 for 18 and 3 of 10 from deep. He made back-to-back 3-pointers late in the first half to get his team within 54-45 at the break, but Curry and Thompson heated up and helped the Warriors pull away in the second half. “A great job. That’s it,” Doncic said. “They did a great job.” Jalen Brunson scored 14 points but missed all five of his 3s for the surprising Mavs, who stunned the top-seeded Suns in a 123-90 thumping in Game 7 on Sunday in Phoenix.
“They did a really good job. Wiggins picking him up full court,” Mavs coach Jason Kidd said. “They went box-and-one, they went zone. We understood coming into the series that we were going to see that. We’ll go back and look at the video and see what we can do better.” Stopping Doncic, who was averaging 31.5 points in the playoffs, is the tall task this time after the Warriors already handled two-time reigning MVP Nikola Jokic of Denver in the first round, then Ja Morant early last series before his knee injury. “I thought Wiggs was fantastic,” coach Steve Kerr said. “Doncic is as difficult a cover as there is in this league. … It’s important to make him work. He’s so good. Any great player in the league you’re trying to limit the damage that they do.”
