The new CBA will impact the Bulls signing of Sean Kilpatrick in a multitude of ways. For starters, Chicago is still $2M below the minimum salary cap floor. Although Chicago now has $90M counted against the cap, the amount of salary applied to the floor is the amount earned while playing for the Bulls and not the full cap hit. The acquisition of Omer Asik, Noah Vonleh, Willie Reed, Tony Allen and Quincy Pondexter in previous years would have pushed the Bulls above the floor. For trade purposes, only the amount guaranteed (or earned at the time) in 2018-19 and 2019-20 will apply and not the cap hit. For example, if Kilpatrick has a $2M non-guaranteed salary next season, the amount used in a trade will be $0. The Nets will also receive a set-off based on the salary earned with the Bucks, Clippers and Bulls.
Mike McGraw: #Bulls say Sean Kilpatrick will be available for Houston game tomorrow and wear No. 0. The 6-4 SG has played in 43 games for Clippers, Bucks, Nets this season.
Shams Charania: Sources: The Chicago Bulls have signed guard Sean Kilpatrick to a three-year, $6.2M deal, with team options on next two seasons. As part of salary maneuvering, Bulls signed Kilpatrick as part of mid level exception.
Mark Murphy: Celtics expected to sign Sean Kilpatrick to 10-day contract later today. Combo guard most recently played through two 10-days with Clippers.
The signing of Sean Kilpatrick to a 10-Day Contract now has the Clippers $545K below the luxury tax. The Clippers still have $538K remaining of the full-mid level exception that could be used down the road for either Tyrone Wallace or CJ Williams. The Clippers can sign either player up to 4 years. Both players are on a Two-Way Contract that will expire on June 30. Williams and Wallace will be a restricted free agent if the Clippers give a qualifying offer by June 30.
Darren Wolfson: Word is they're releasing my guy, Sean Kilpatrick. #FearTheDeer twitter.com/shamscharania/…
Chris Haynes‏: Milwaukee Bucks plan to sign guard Sean Kilpatrick, league sources tell ESPN. Brooklyn released him last week to make room for Jahlil Okafor trade.
Bobby Marks: Brooklyn still has $3.7M in cap space to use but have 15 roster spots. The cap space would increase to $5.2M if Sean Kilpatrick is claimed. The claiming team must have room, trade or Disability Exception to claim the shooting guard.
Journeyman Sean Kilpatrick is transforming a 10-day contract with the Brooklyn Nets into staying power. Kilpatrick, 26, is finalizing a two-year deal with the Nets, sources told The Vertical. The deal will include a guarantee for the 2016-17 season, sources said.
Nets G Sean Kilpatrick, now on his second 10-day contract, has been a pleasant surprise for Brooklyn, averaging 13.6 points in his last five games. The 26-year-old journeyman covets stability -- and the Yonkers, N.Y. native hopes he's finally found it. "I've been living out of a suitcase I would say for the past six months. It's crazy, man," he said. "That's why when you ask, 'Do I want to be here (long-term)?' Like, I'm tired of living out of a suitcase."
The Brooklyn Nets have signed guard Sean Kilpatrick to a 10-day contract, General Manager Sean Marks announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.
Darren Wolfson: Hear Sean Kilpatrick is expected to sign with the Nets. Thought the #Twolves should've pursued. Best wing in the D-League.
