Rockets guard Brandon Knight on Wednesday went through his first full-team practice since he tore the ACL in his left knee in March 2017 while with the Phoenix Suns. Knight did practice with the Suns' summer league team in July before a follow-up surgery was needed. He played one game with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers last week, with Wednesday's practice in Salt Lake City the Rockets' first since that game. "I feel like I'm nearing the end," Knight said of the rehab process.

Brandon Knight update: A source told The Athletic that the team has been very cautious with Knight and there is a possibility of a return in December. Knight is viewed as someone who can help take minutes from Paul and Harden. Paul is averaging 34.5 minutes per game and Harden 35.8. Knight has been taking shots and going through layup drills before the start of games.
The Rockets’ long-awaited update Friday on guard Brandon Knight’s rehab of his left knee offered no timetable for his return, indicating only that he is working toward “NBA-ready level of strength and mobility.” Rockets general manager Daryl Morey had said on media day that Knight developed an infection in his left knee following an off-season procedure the Rockets described on Friday as “to accelerate recovery from his previous surgery year ago.” He had missed all of last season following ACL surgery, but returned to practice with the Suns’ summer league team only to need the follow-up procedure.

Jonathan Feigen: Rockets rookie Vincent Edwards day to day with a left adductor strain. As mentioned last week, Zhou Qi is out this week with a sprained ankle along with Brandon Knight, who is out through the preseason.
John Gambadoro: Spoke with BK he was excited to play with Booker and the core and make something special happen here. He did have a minor cleanup on his knee about 6 weeks ago and may not be ready for start of training camp but expects to be ready for the season.
After missing all of last season due to injury, Brandon Knight is back and looking forward to becoming a leader for the Suns young core. The 26-year-old point guard used the time off the court as a learning experience to help build his leadership skills. “When you can’t play, you can’t affect the game on the court,” Knight said. “I just found other ways to try to help my teammates be better. Whether that be telling tidbits I saw when I observed. I just tried to be a veteran presence on our team and just lead through that.”
Knight is just two years removed from his highest scoring average of his career (19.6 ppg) and is ready to get back on the court. “I’ve been excited since December, since I started running. I’m looking forward to it. I’m very excited about it,” Knight said.
Knight is ready to team up with the young core and build something special in Phoenix. “I already know how I can help and how I can play with them. I know their strengths and weaknesses just from watching them all season,” Knight said. “Hopefully it will be quick building chemistry with them once I get back in, once I get back playing.”
For now, however, all he can do is rehabilitate his knee after offseason surgery repaired a torn anterior cruciate ligament. He won’t play the rest of this season but he’s finally traveling with the team, hanging out in the locker room, feeling like he’s a part of something again. “With a couple of years left in my deal, hopefully I can get healthy and show what I can do,” Knight said.
Knight said he’s in a better place than he was last season in part because of what he’s gone through. The difficult times – and the knee surgery – have changed his attitude. “I’m thankful for all of it because it’s taught me a lot. It’s helped me be stronger,” he said. “You go through what I did and then an injury like this, and you see basketball taken away from you for a full year, things like (being benched) become very trivial. That’s why I say I’m thankful for the things that have happened to me. “The injury changed my perspective. It’s given me a refreshing energy. It’s made me a better person and hopefully a better player and a better teammate.”
Phoenix Suns guard Brandon Knight underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee on Friday. The procedure was performed by Head Team Physician Dr. Tom Carter in Phoenix. Knight will remain out for the 2017-18 season.
He will undergo surgery and an official timetable for his return will be determined at a later date, the team said. Knight was injured during a pro-am game last Wednesday in Miami.
John Gambadoro: Suns asked Brandon Knight to play tonight he told them he had back spasms. If you believe that Brandon Knight has back spasms I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you

Phoenix Suns guard Brandon Knight yesterday underwent successful surgery to treat a sports hernia. The surgery was performed by Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia. Knight has already begun rehabilitation and will return to Phoenix next week.
Suns guard Brandon Knight’s season is ending early due to a health issue for a second consecutive season with Phoenix. Knight and the team made a collaborative decision to have him sit out the remainder of the season and get a second opinion this week on his sports hernia. Missing the past two games and the remaining five games puts Knight on an earlier timetable if it is determined that surgery is needed.
Suns guard Brandon Knight is nearing a return to the court after missing the past 20 games. Knight practiced in full for the first time on Tuesday, but Phoenix did not scrimmage five-on-five to let him get a complete sense of where he is as he works from his sports hernia injury. His status for Wednesday’s game against the Knicks at Talking Stick Resort Arena is still unknown. “Knowing when to pull back,” said Knight as he looks to become comfortable again. “Little things that irk it. Just trying to wait until your body tell you it’s ready to do certain things. And like I said that’s the biggest thing.”
Suns guard Brandon Knight said he will work out Monday with hopes of trying to practice Tuesday. The staff has said he would not be able to return to game action until he can scrimmage in a practice. Knight has been out seven weeks with a groin strain. “Lately, Brandon is moving around pretty well,” Watson said. “We’re just focused on the moment. When he’s ready to come back, we absolutely embrace him. We need him and we love Brandon Knight.”
Brandon Knight (groin strain) is still likely to not play until after the Suns’ Feb. 11-18 All-Star break. Knight has missed the past seven games.
