Anthony Chiang: Heat announces the signing of guard Daryl Macon, which brings the roster to the preseason limit of 20 players.

Chuck Cooperstein: Mavs sign @_dmacon4 to a 2 yr/2 way deal. He can shoot it. 42% from 3 last year for Arkansas. But his story is stunning. He took Mavs deal rather than MIA for the $$. Not so notable except for the fact that the man was facing homelessness.
The Heat has offered contracts to both undrafted Arkansas point guard Daryl Macon and undrafted Georgia forward Yante Maten, their agents said Saturday. Both are considering the offers but also are weighing opportunities with other teams, the agents said.

Those might seem like mumbo jumbo to dyed-in-the-wool hoop heads, but those are things that Lore and Rodriguez are very familiar with in their other businesses. They can dive in on them right away as they work to get up to speed on the intricacies of basketball, the collective bargaining agreement and the team in general.
