Serena Winters: Joel Embiid did not practice today (right ankle sprain). Listed as questionable for tomorrow. He also received sutures for the lip laceration from the season opener
Serena Winters: Brett Brown has no update on Joel Embiid. (Currently still probable with upper respiratory)
Kyle Neubeck: Embiid went back to the locker room, didn’t see him do much other than shoot jumpers. Body language was not especially encouraging, could see a band aid on his arm where I presume he would have been hooked up to an IV this week. That’s all I got until decision is made.
Eric Koreen: Nurse on adjusting to Philly if Embiid doesn’t play: “I haven’t thought about that for one second until you brought that up."
Josh Lewenberg: Has Jimmy Butler asked Embiid how he's feeling? "I didn't ask how he's doing. I can look at him and tell how he's doing." How does he look? JB: "Sick. I tried to stay as far away as I could to tell you the truth. I love him but I don't want to be sick. I hate being sick."
Serena Winters: Joel Embiid seemed very sick talking to him post-game. He told us he could not sleep, was throwing up last night, and had to get an IV at 6AM this morning. Also said it was not related to the stomach issue he had for Game 2.
Eric Koreen: Brown on Embiid: “We hope to maintain and sort of increase his fitness base as the Brooklyn series and now the Toronto series play out."
Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid says the tendinitis in his left knee is still bothersome, but he's going to increase his workload in the second round against the Toronto Raptors regardless. "It's still not there. It's still trying to get better," Embiid said at shootaround Saturday in advance of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the favored Raptors. "But that's an issue that's going to be there at least all playoffs until I actually get some real time to get some rest and work on myself. ... "But, we did a good job managing it. Obviously I only averaged about 24 minutes last series, so this one I'm definitely going to need way more than that."
The same knee issue that caused him to miss 14 of the Sixers' 24 games after the All-Star break kept him out of Game 3 against the Nets. "It's hard because I'm known for playing through anything and pushing, pushing it," Embiid said. "And in some situations like Game 3, I couldn't go because it was too much. But like I said, I just got to keep managing it and see how I feel and then go from there."
Brian Lewis: #Sixers center Joel Embiid (knee) is officially listed as probable for Tuesday's Game 5. #nets #76ers #NBAPlayoffs
Kristian Winfield: Brett Brown on Joel Embiid injury status: “I’m a recipient of the news, and I coach accordingly.” Pretty bizarre situation
Embiid is questionable for Game 4 on Sunday. "It's tough," Embiid said before Thursday's game when asked about his health. "That's what tendinitis is all about. And some days you got your days, and some other days is different. So, even in the games that I play, I just try to go out there and try to play for these guys. I try to help us win the series and eliminate them. So, whatever, whatever I can do. But it's hard. I just got to keep pushing it and see how it goes."
Dave McMenamin: Embiid, pregame, speaking about his health: "It’s tough. That’s what tendinitis is all about. And some days you got your days and some other days is different. So even in the games that I play I just try to go out there and try to play for these guys ... (1 of 2)
Brian Lewis: Asked if he has different game plans dependent on Embiid’s availability, Brown stretched his hand out to his left and said “There’s night...” then to his right, and said “and then there’s day. That’s the truth. It’s Joel Embiid.” #sixers #nets #76ers
Serena Winters: Joel Embiid is still listed as questionable on the 530 injury report. Jonah Bolden is probable (left knee soreness) James Ennis III (right quad contusion) is probable.
I am sure Embiid is tough and can play through his current knee issue, but the worry goes beyond the playoffs this year. The picture above indicates concern about a long-term issue. The brace shown is used for unicompartmental arthritis. It could be used for a bone bruise, but absent an acute injury that is unlikely. And given Embiid’s long-term value, I doubt the Sixers medical staff would allow him to play through a bone bruise to risk further damage. Therefore the brace almost certainly means Embiid’s longevity is in question.
Derek Bodner: #sixers 5:30 PM injury report: - Joel Embiid (questionable, left knee soreness) - Jonah Bolden (probable, left knee soreness) - James Ennis (doubtful, right quad contusion).
Tom Moore: Joel Embiid: ‘I decided 15 minutes before the game to push through the pain.’ Said he experienced some pain but is fine.
Serena Winters: Brett Brown says Joel Embiid is still a game-time decision. Jonah Bolden is also a game-time decision.
ESPN Stats & Info: Joel Embiid is doubtful for Game 1 against the Nets (2:30 ET on ESPN). That is good news for the Nets, who struggled to stop Embiid this season. He played in all four meetings and averaged 30.0 PPG, 14.3 RPG and 5.0 APG on 60% FG and 46% 3-pt FG.
Brian Lewis: Jarrett Allen on if he thought Embiid would sit out: “No. Because we’re all basketball players & we all want to be out there in the playoffs… Its that time of the year where everybody wants to play. Its the best basketball out there. So I think he’s going to be out there.” #Nets
Kyle Neubeck: Joel Embiid has been listed as doubtful for Game 1 of the Brooklyn Nets series. Jonah Bolden is questionable.
Keith Pompey: #Sixers starters @Joel Embiid and JJ Redick and reserve @Mike Scott will all miss tonight’s game vs. the #Heat.
Serena Winters: Mike Scott is OUT for tonight's game (lower back tightness). Furkan Korkmaz (right knee surgery) has been upgraded to available for tonight's game. (Joel Embiid & JJ Redick are out. Jonah Bolden remains questionable with a sore left knee). #Sixers
Serena Winters: #Sixers updates Joel Embiid (left knee soreness) and JJ Redick (back tightness) are OUT for tomorrow's game vs. Miami. Jonah Bolden is questionable with a sore left knee. On a positive note, Furkan Korkmaz (right knee surgery) has been upgraded to questionable.

Keith Pompey: #Sixers’ @Jimmy Butler (back) and @Joel Embiid (knee) are questionable for tomorrow’s game at #Bulls
Matt Velazquez: Jimmy Butler is listed as out for tonight with back soreness. Brett Brown says Joel Embiid is a game-time decision.
Asked about Embiid sitting out with the playoffs around the corner, Brown said it "isn't ideal" but also is the right move to ensure Embiid is healthy for the postseason. "In a perfect world, you'd have all these guys together and playing, and playing a lot, you know, growing in relation to familiarity and so on," Brown said. "You can go this way or that way. The way that we have chosen to go is the wisest of our options. I'm sure of that."
"This is not sort of a reaction to symptoms," Brown said. "It's just load management. Again, we're just trying to be smart and deliver him to play in the playoffs ready to go."
When asked about hosting Boston tomorrow, Brett Brown tells reporters in Charlotte he just got finished FaceTiming with Joel Embiid. "I can't wait. We're excited."
Joel Embiid will miss Tuesday’s matchup against the Charlotte Hornets at the Spectrum Center for load management. The 76ers center, however, will be available to compete in Wednesday’s key contest against the Boston Celtics at the Wells Fargo Center.
Malika Andrews: Embiid on his knee: “It all about load management. I wouldn’t say it’s 100 percent because as an NBA player, everything is always sore.” He said he expects to miss more regular season games as he preps for the playoffs.
Jon Johnson: “I didn’t think I was gonna play. Yesterday I was on the floor crying for my life.” - @Joel Embiid after a 75 minute practice on Saturday.
Malika Andrews: Joel Embiid said his goal this game was to play 24 minutes depending on his conditioning. He eclipsed that by 4 minutes. Embiid said he felt more comfortable as the game went on.
Serena Winters: Brett Brown says he believes Joel Embiid will play tonight. Official declaration will happen after he does his pre-game warmups.
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid plans to face the visiting Indiana Pacers on Sunday (3:30 p.m., ABC) after missing the past eight games due to left knee soreness, a team source told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne. Embiid hasn't played since the All-Star Game, where he scored 10 points in 23 minutes.
Jon Johnson: Amir Johnson played last night, will play tonight. Can’t imagine Sixers want him playing tomorrow vs IND. Thinking plan is Embiid will return, baring something unforeseen.
Asked whether or not Joel Embiid (left knee soreness) would make the Sixers' trip to Houston on Friday, coach Brett Brown said: "We are still going through that. There has been no decision officially on that. The bottom line is we have come this far in relation to rest after the All Star break -- personally, I am at a stage where if it requires more time, so be it. The end game is obvious: it is trying to deliver him to the playoffs healthy. I do look up from time to time and pay attention to the calendar. It's not like you have an abundance of time." Embiid has been out since the All Star Break.

We caught up with the 31-year-old fresh off winning the 30th season of “Dancing With the Stars” this week … and we asked with all the moves he displayed on the dancefloor, is he going to take his talents back to the basketball court?? “Tryna see what we can get done,” Shumpert said, “I love basketball. I never stopped playing.”
Haralabos Voulgaris: I tried to get (Alex Caruso) the year he was a free agent three years ago. Could not convince people that he was even an NBA basketball player and one of our guys in our front office is like, ‘I think if he didn’t look like the like Jim Carrey from the Cable Guy when when he plays a pickup basketball game, I think he would be taken a lot more seriously.’
Harrison Faigen: LeBron, on if the team is really patient, or if they’re just putting on a brave face when they preach patience: “We’re all disgusted at our losses. But at the same time, you’ve got to stay even-keeled throughout the process… I feel like I played a horrible game individually.”
Harrison Faigen: LeBron James says he saw Isaiah Stewart’s comments today saying he doesn’t think LeBron hit him on accident. LeBron maintains that the hit to his face was accidental, he was just trying to push Stewart off of him.
