The Heat will have enough room under the hard cap to convert Silva’s two-way contract to a standard NBA contract starting Jan. 14, and Silva has enough two-way days available to play in every one of Miami’s games before then. The Heat has an open roster spot with just 14 players currently under standard deals. If Silva has his two-way deal converted to a standard NBA contract, that will be another memorable day. But Friday stands alone. “Today has been crazy,” Silva said. “From seeing my mom and catching a good win, all that, it’s crazy. I’m shook.”

More on Two-Way Contracts

Shams Charania: The Houston Rockets and two-way guard Chris Clemons have agreed to a three-year NBA deal, league sources tell @The Athletic @Stadium. Clemons ran out of two-way days and is now signing a full contract.
The Warriors will be sellers between now and the trade deadline. I outline all of that here. The gist: Expect them to make a minor move (or two) in an effort to convert Ky Bowman’s two-way contract to a standard roster spot.
The Oklahoma City Thunder has signed forward Kevin Hervey to a Two-Way Contract, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti.
The Los Angeles Lakers have signed forward Devontae Cacok to a two-way contract, it was announced today. In a related move, the team has waived guard Zach Norvell Jr.
As a two-way-contract player, Bowman is almost halfway through his allotted 45 days with Golden State. If the Warriors can’t find a way to convert his deal to a 15-man roster spot, Bowman would have to spend the rest of the season with the Warriors’ G League affiliate in Santa Cruz.
An undrafted free agent, Bowman and his agent had been in contact with several teams, including Golden State, New Orleans and Detroit. After spurning a promising football career for a shot to play basketball for a living, he sought a guaranteed contract. They told teams Bowman would not sign a two-way deal. “That was one of my components when I was going into the draft,” Bowman said. “I wasn’t going to sign a two-way contract.”
The Orlando Magic have signed forward Amile Jefferson, President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman announced today.
The New York Knicks announced today that the team has signed forward Ivan Rabb to a Two-Way contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Rabb, 6-10, 220-pounds, holds career averages of 5.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists over 14.6 minutes in 85 games (18 starts) over two seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies. The Sacramento, CA-native recorded 5.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists over 14.7 minutes in 49 games (13 starts) with the Grizzlies last season.
The 6-10, 220-pound Rabb played parts of two seasons with Memphis, averaging 5.7 points and 4.3 rebounds in 85 games (18 starts.) Rabb is not with the Knicks in San Antonio. The Knicks backed out of a verbal agreement with Wilkes because of an undisclosed illness. The Post reported they hadn’t ruled out signing Wilkes later in the year. The Knicks’ other two-way signee is Kadeem Allen.
The Chicago Bulls have signed guard Max Strus (Stroos) to a Two-Way contract. In accordance with team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Adam Zagoria: @Shamorie Ponds will sign a Two-Way contract with the Raptors, his agent Ryan Davis tells me. Ponds is traveling to Toronto tomorrow and will be there for the ring ceremony.
The Sacramento Kings made a series of moves today, according to General Manager Vlade Divac, as Sacramento exercised the Standard NBA Contract Conversion Option on forward Wenyen Gabriel and claimed guard/forward DaQuan Jeffries off waivers. Sacramento then exercised the two-way player conversion option on Jeffries and waived forward Tyler Lydon.
James Ham: According to a league source, DaQuan Jeffries is joining the Kings as a two-way player. Wenyen Gabriel is being converted to a regular NBA contract and added to the roster. Tyler Lydon is being waived.
Fred Katz: The Wizards have converted Chris Chiozza to a two-way deal, sources tell The Athletic. Wizards had to either convert or waive Chiozza by today’s 5pm deadline.
Jonathan Feigen: As mentioned on Friday, Frazier impressed the Rockets with his work in the off-season program and was expected to compete for a roster spot. Injury on first days of camp prevented that. They had G League rights, but did not want another team to get him on NBA roster with 2-way.
Jonathan Feigen: Chris Clemons will also be converted to a two-way contract, person with knowledge of that and the Frazier move said. That will move the Rockets to the maximum of 15 roster players.
Rick Bonnell: Hornets move Kobi Simmons into the open two-way contract slot, so roster — 15 regular spots, plus two two-ways — is complete for now.
Tony Jones: The Jazz have waived Isaac Haas and Mike Scott. Both will play for the SLC Stars. Utah still has to trim its roster by one to get down to 15. Jarrell Brantley and Justin Wright-Foreman will be two-way players
Charlotte Hornets President of Basketball Operations & General Manager Mitch Kupchak announced today that the team has converted the contract of forward Jalen McDaniels to a two-way contract. The Hornets selected McDaniels with the 52nd overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. McDaniels, a 6-10 forward from San Diego State, earned All-Mountain West Second Team in 2018-19 and All-Mountain West Third Team in 2017-18 as a freshman.
KC Johnson: Bulls have no plans to add player off waiver wire, which would necessitate waiving of Shaq Harrison, who isn't fully guaranteed. Bulls will add one 2-way contract in coming days.
Rod Boone: #Hornets have announced they've converted Caleb Martin's deal to a two-way contract. He had a partially guaranteed deal heading into training camp.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have claimed forward Tyler Cook off waivers, Cavaliers General Manager Koby Altman announced today from Cleveland Clinic Courts. Cook was under contract with the Denver Nuggets as a Two-Way player before being waived and will remain under that contract with the Cavs.
Adrian Wojnarowski: Celtics are converting 7-foot-6 rookie Tacko Fall to a two-way contract, league sources tell ESPN. He will spend most of his season developing with G-League affiliate Maine, but can spend up to 45 days with Celtics in NBA.
Albert Nahmad: BOS will sign Two-Way SG Max Strus to a 2-year, $2.5M min deal with nearly 1/2 his $898K 1st-year salary guaranteed. Get this symmetry: Max payout on a Two-Way? $411K. If that’s his guarantee, he’d out-earn it on 1/10, the exact day his and all NBA contracts get fully guaranteed.
Bobby Marks: Converting the Max Strus Two-Way to a standard contract now opens up Boston to having a 2W spot available. A player on an Exhibit 10 contract like Tacko Fall must be converted to a 2W by next Monday.
Shams Charania: The Boston Celtics are signing two-way guard Max Strus to a two-year NBA deal, with a partial guarantee this season of nearly half of rookie minimum, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium .
Jeff Siegel: Source: Bol Bol's two-way contract with the Denver Nuggets runs for two years, the maximum allowable length on a two-way contract. He's guaranteed $50,000 for each year.
Ira Winderman: G League season ends March 28, that will leave an additional 18 days two-way players can spend on NBA rosters beyond the 45-day limit between start of G League camp and end of G League regular season.
Albert Nahmad: Bol Bol is expected to accept a two-way contract from DEN (~$410K max payout). But if he doesn’t, DEN would need to issue him a Required Tender (a 1-year, $898K non-guaranteed contract offer) by 9/5 to keep him RFA, which he could accept through 10/15.
Harrison Wind: Nuggets announce that they have signed P.J. Dozier to a training camp deal and Tyler Cook to a two-way contract. The expectation is that second-rounder Bol Bol will also sign a two-way deal meaning the Nuggets could keep their final roster spot open for now.
Mike Singer: #Nuggets expected to sign Summer League standout Tyler Cook to two-way deal, per league source. Team has track record of converting two-way deals to standard contracts. It’s possible he ultimately competes for 15th spot on roster.
Michael Singer: The #Nuggets have signed P.J. Dozier to a training camp contract, a league source told @DPostSports. He’ll have a chance to make the roster or earn a two-way spot. More soon @denverpost.

Jordan McLaughlin: Excited to be joining the @Timberwolves this season! Thank you for this opportunity and I look forward to contributing to the vision. 🙏🏽🏀 Jon Krawczynski: McLaughlin has signed a 2-way contract. Good opportunity for him on a PG-thin team after he played well in Summer League.
Sources telling @Eurohoopsnet that the NBA champions Toronto Raptors are planning to claim Kostas Antetokounmpo off waivers
Roy Parry: According to league sources, Amile Jefferson's reported deal with the Magic will be a two-way contract. That will close out the team's two-way contract slots; the Magic reportedly reached a two-way deal agreement with guard Josh Magette earlier this week.

And there’s actually a runaway No. 1 as far as the club with the most male basketball players participating: Real Madrid, the team that produced a certain Luka Doncic, who just tied the record for second-most points ever scored in an Olympic basketball contest. The storied Spanish club leads the way with eight players taking part in the Olympic Games this summer, followed by Fenerbahce out of the Turkish League, Australia’s Melbourne United, the Miami Heat (the NBA team with most male basketball representatives in Tokyo), Olimpia Milano (Italy) and Union Olimpija (Slovenia), all of whom have four players at the Games.
