Jonathan Feigen: Guard Austin Rivers planning to join the Rockets in Orlando, could come back from flu symptoms tomorrow in limited minutes. FWIW, I can now confirm with certainty that whatever got in that locker room will knock you down hard.
Jonathan Feigan: Rockets guard Austin Rivers is out with neck soreness.
Marc J. Spears: Rockets guard Austin Rivers playing tonight.
Hunter Atkins: Rockets G Austin Rivers will not play Wednesday vs. MIN because of a sore right elbow.
Chase Hughes: Austin Rivers practiced today for the first time after dealing with neck spasms, and said he had a clear MRI. Dwight Howard did not practice as he deals with back soreness.
The Wizards were again without two of their most prominent offseason additions on Wednesday, the second day of their 2018-19 training camp, as Dwight Howard (back soreness) and Austin Rivers (neck spasms) were not a full-go.
Rivers at least appears to be trending in the right direction, as head coach Scott Brooks said he "felt much better" the day after leaving Tuesday's practice with neck discomfort. Howard, on the other hand, doesn't appear as close to returning as initially thought. "He's progressing, but it's going to be a couple more days before we see how he feels there," Brooks said. That means Howard could end up sitting out most of, if not all of, the rest of training camp.
Brad Turner: Austin Rivers is playing. Milos Teodosic is out
Brad Turner: Clippers upgrade Austin Rivers from out to questionable with right ankle injury for Detroit game Friday night. But Clippers list Milos Teodosic as questionable with sore right foot injury
Teodosic’s return remains uncertain. “He’s obviously out today and probably the next game,” said Rivers, whose team plays Monday night against Atlanta. “But it looks like he’ll be back sooner than later.” The Clippers also said Austin Rivers, who has a right ankle injury, will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Chris Haynes: LAC guard Austin Rivers (right Achilles strain) to be held out of today’s game against Charlotte, league sources tell ESPN. The expectation is he returns Tuesday for Memphis.
Brad Turner: Austin Rivers expected to play tonight
Michael Gallagher: The Clippers say Austin Rivers (concussion) is questionable and Danilo Gallinari (glute) is out for Monday against the Spurs.
Michael Gallagher: Austin Rivers is down. Holding his face after Simmons caught him with an elbow. Still down after a minute or so.
Royce Young: Austin Rivers is available to play tonight, per Doc Rivers.
Brad Turner: More bad news for Clippers. Austin Rivers suffered mild left ankle sprain in practice. Questionable for OKC game Friday night.
Brad Turner: Austin Rivers says right pinkie is fine and will play tonight vs Detroit
Michael Gallagher: LAC Friday injury report: Doubtful: Gallo (foot), Dekker (oblique), Rivers (glute), Wilson (back) Out: Beverley (knee), Thornwell (shoulder)
Brad Turner: Milos Teodosic is listed as Clippers starter in place of Austin Rivers, out with strained right glute. DJ, BG, Beverley, Gallinari to start
Jovan Buha: Doc Rivers says Mo Speights will start at the 4 again. Austin Rivers' minutes have been bumped up from 12.
Mark Medina: As @Adrian Wojnarowski reported, Doc Rivers said Austin Rivers will definitely play in Game 5, but on a minutes restriction.
Los Angeles Clippers guard Austin Rivers is planning to return to the lineup for Game 5 of the Western Conference first-round series against the Utah Jazz, league sources told The Vertical. Rivers, who has missed 11 games with a hamstring injury, will be on restricted minutes Tuesday night at the Staples Center with the series tied at two games, league sources said.
Adrian Wojnarowski: Sources: Clippers expect guard Austin Rivers to return from hamstring injury for Game 5 vs. the Jazz on Tuesday.
But as coach Doc Rivers looks at his shallow bench, he's still searching for man No. 7. Rivers would love to get his son, swingman Austin Rivers, back in a jersey before the end of this first-round series, but it is unlikely he will get the chance to suit up before Game 5. "I don't think so," Doc Rivers said Friday when asked if Austin Rivers could be ready in time for Sunday's Game 4 in Salt Lake City. "I don't know. I think he probably thinks that for sure. He's feeling better. He's working out. But I just don't see that. I think that's awfully quick."
Marc J. Spears: Clippers guard Austin Rivers (hamstring) hopes to return for Game 4 of Utah first round series.
Reserve guard Austin Rivers, who has sat out the Clippers’ last seven games because of a left hamstring injury, will not play in Game 2. Doc Rivers said that his son was “probably out for Game 3 as well.”
Jody Genessy: Austin Rivers will miss the first two games and shot for the first time today since his injury.
Ahead of Saturday afternoon's matchup against their inner-city rival Los Angeles Lakers, head coach Doc Rivers delivered an update on his son's injured hamstring when asked about his likelihood of missing the final five games of the season. "I would say most likely, yes," said the elder Rivers about his son Austin missing the remainder of the regular season. "I think it's a little more serious [than we initially thought]."
To make matters a bit worse, Doc says the younger Rivers' injury could potentially hamper him into the postseason, but says the team just doesn’t know how much time he will end up missing.
The NBA playoffs are scheduled to start April 15. “I’m disappointed,” Austin Rivers said. “I was looking forward to this year’s playoffs. The goal was game one of the playoffs, but it’s looking like hopefully midfirst round, early second round. We’ll see. You never know, I might heal faster than I think so. “In my mind, my goal is to be back by the first round, for game one or game two, which is ideal. So, we’ll see.”
Even with all that, Rivers wasn’t sure if the heavy workload caused his injury. “I don’t know if that was due to me pulling my hamstring. I don’t know. It’s a sucky thing,” Rivers said. “It’s not that serious, serious of an injury. It’s just bad timing. Two weeks out with an injury is not crazy. It’s just the timing of it; man, the timing of me getting it. It’s just (messy) timing. I’m getting it a week and a half before the playoffs with a three- or four-week injury. It’s just not good timing.”
Austin Rivers is already expected to miss the rest of the regular season with a strained left hamstring, suffered in Wednesday’s win over Washington. “The Austin injury is absolutely a byproduct of the schedule,” Doc Rivers said.
Bill Oram: Doc Rivers said Austin Rivers hamstring strain is "a pretty good one." Hopes to have him back by start of playoffs.
The L.A. Clippers announced today that guard Austin Rivers suffered a left hand fracture in the second quarter of the Clippers loss to Minnesota on Feb. 3. Rivers did not play in the Clippers game Feb. 5 in Orlando and underwent an MRI Feb. 6 in Miami that revealed the fracture.
Los Angeles Clippers guard Austin Rivers has been diagnosed with a broken left hand and likely will be out four to six weeks, sources said. Rivers suffered the injury moments before he was ejected for arguing with officials Wednesday in the Clippers' loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Initial X-rays came back negative, and Rivers told reporters he believed he had a bone bruise.

Blazers to offer Damian Lillard a two-year extension over $100 million

Having landed Lillard’s one-time Team USA running mate Jerami Grant from Detroit before the NBA draft, Portland is now expected to offer the All-NBA guard a two-year contract extension that will exceed over $100 million, sources told B/R.
Blazers keeping Jusuf Nurkic?

Starting center Jusuf Nurkic appears destined to be a part of the Blazers’ future, with a belief among league personnel he will sign a four-year deal worth roughly $17 million in average annual value.
Fred VanVleet expected to sign $110 million extension with Raptors

Toronto and Fred VanVleet appear headed towards a contract extension that could approach four years and over $110 million, sources told B/R. Thaddeus Young is expected to find a two-year agreement worth at least $10 million to rejoin Toronto.

Toronto continues to monitor the availability of several elite centers, sources said, including Utah Jazz All-Star Rudy Gobert.

The Wizards are one of the teams that have inquired about Dejounte Murray in San Antonio, sources said, but Washington doesn’t seem to have an offer capable of landing the Spurs’ All-Star.

Outside of San Antonio, there doesn’t appear to be any serious active trade conversation surrounding Collins. Sacramento, Portland, Boston and Brooklyn all registered some level of interest in Collins around the draft, but none of those teams appear far along with Atlanta on Collins deals at this juncture.

Minnesota is expected to have interest in Tyus Jones, but Washington has been the one rival team most often connected with the Grizzlies’ point guard. Jones is said to be seeking a multi-year deal above the non-taxpayer mid-level exception of $10.1 million for the ’22-23 season.
Victor Oladipo done in Miami?

Early indications are Tyler Herro’s extension with Miami will settle around $25 million in average annual value. Victor Oladipo is not expected to return to the Heat and is said to have interest from Washington, Denver and Detroit, in the salary range of the taxpayer MLE.
