The 29-acre Edgartown property on Turkeyland Cove Road was purchased by Turkeyland Cove Nominee Trust for $11.75 million, according to Dukes County Registry of Deeds records. The property had been on the market for $14.8 million, and was assessed at $15.1 million.

After being traded by the Celtics over the summer, he just sold his townhouse outside Boston for the full asking price of $1.699 million. Twenty-seven years later, the four-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony, alongside Mayor Ras Baraka, at an $80 million, 22-story building at 50 Rector Park in the Newark Downtown District. The development, known around town as “Shaq Tower,” is the first high-rise apartment building to join the city’s skyline in more than 50 years. The project came about as a public-private partnership between Shaq, the city, the state of New Jersey, New Brunswick-based Boraie Development and the Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group. The new tower was also boosted by a $24 million New Jersey Department of Economic Development Urban Transit Hub Tax Credit. The building’s one million square feet of space includes ground-floor retail space and 169 residential units—with monthly rents ranging from $1,800 to $2,895—as well as a gym, co-working lounge, private dining room, sky deck and Amazon lockers.

The 14-year veteran just listed his palm-topped mansion in Southwest Ranches for $3.475 million. Records show Gay paid $2.13 million for the home in 2014 and added a personal touch to the 2.3-acre grounds: a basketball court with a UConn theme; he played two years of basketball at the University of Connecticut.
Gilbert’s cultivation of the Trump family appears to have paid off: Three swaths of downtown Detroit were selected as opportunity zones under the Trump tax law, extending a valuable tax break to Gilbert’s real estate empire. Gilbert’s relationship with the White House helped him win his desired tax break, an email obtained by ProPublica suggests. In February 2018, as the selection process was underway, a top Michigan economic development official asked her colleague to call Quicken’s executive vice president for government affairs about opportunity zones. “They worked with the White House on it and want to be sure we are coordinated,” wrote the official, Christine Roeder, in an email with the subject line “Quicken.”
Gilbert influenced the local selection process, as well, other emails obtained by ProPublica show: Quicken’s top lobbyist was so enmeshed in the process, his name appears on an opportunity zone map made by the city economic development organization, recommending part of downtown be included in the tax break. No other non-city officials are named on the document. The result has likely already been a boon to Gilbert: Multiple studies have found that property values in opportunity zones increased because of the tax break. Gilbert has put an estimated $3 billion into buying and renovating properties in Detroit, the vast majority now in opportunity zones.
The White House, Treasury Department and Quicken Loans all declined to answer repeated questions about Gilbert’s interactions with the Trump administration regarding opportunity zones. Roeder didn’t respond to requests for comment. A spokesperson for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation declined to elaborate on the email mentioning Quicken’s work with the White House. In a statement, Jared Fleisher, Quicken Loans vice president of government affairs, acknowledged Gilbert’s companies gave input to the state but said they “did not exercise any inappropriate influence.” The companies “joined a wide range of stakeholders in providing feedback into the Opportunity Zone selection process,” he said. “The State of Michigan engaged interested parties, asked for their input, and encouraged participants to share the State of Michigan’s request for input with other potentially interested groups.”
Experts say two of the downtown Detroit tracts are islands of wealth in the city, one of the poorest in the nation. They are significantly wealthier by median income than the surrounding area. They include Gilbert-owned office space with high-end tenants including Microsoft, JP Morgan and Quicken Loans. The boutique Shinola Hotel sits in another Gilbert property that is now in one of the opportunity zones. While the tax break is supposed to generate new development, Gilbert already has several long-planned projects located in the newly designated zones, including the construction of a glass-and-steel skyscraper on the historic Hudson’s department store site.

The former Miami Heat and Marquette Golden Eagles star has offered his mansion at 5980 N. Bay Road, Miami Beach, for sale at $32.5 million, according to a listing by Brett Harris with Douglas Elliman. The brokerage declined to comment on the listing.
Wade bought the Miami Beach home through a trust for $10.645 million in 2010, the same year the Heat landed the “Big 3” of Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh. Wade made significant renovations to the property since then.

Though the property was technically acquired by a mysteriously-named entity, a deep dive into records confirms the $31 million buyer is not a tech bajillionaire or foreign investor but rather professional basketball’s own Stephen Curry — a man currently signed to a whopping $201 million contract with the NBA’s Golden State Warriors — and his wife Ayesha.
Curry has been a busy real estate bee over the past year — back in January, he sold a $6.3 million Alamo, Calif. mansion at a slight profit; that same month, he also unloaded his North Carolina starter home at a slight loss. A four-bedroom, 2,280-square-foot house in south suburban Matteson has the unusual distinction of having been sold on two occasions in the past six months by two separate and now-retired, Chicago-born NBA stars: Dwyane Wade and Tim Hardaway. Wade was the much longer owner of the house, which is in Matteson’s Trinity Creeks neighborhood. He paid $390,000 for it in 2006 with his then-wife, Siohvaughn. After the couple’s divorce, Wade was awarded the house in 2014.
In March, Wade sold the Matteson house for $235,000. And the buyer? An Illinois limited liability company whose owner is Hardaway. Like Wade, Hardaway also is a Chicago-area native and prep basketball star who went on to great success in the NBA. Hardaway didn’t own the Matteson house for anywhere near as long as Wade did, however. Hardaway sold it on July 31 for $269,000, according to public records.
Golden State Warriors majority owner Joe Lacob has purchased a mansion in Malibu, Calif. for $29.1 million, reports Variety.

A Celtics representative also declined comment; a spokesperson for Obama could not immediately be reached.

NBA free agent Arron Afflalo has finally sold his Las Vegas estate, but for a few million short of what he’d hoped. After listing last year for $5.675 million, the home sold for $3.469 million — or $331,000 less than he paid for it in 2017.
But the Sudanese-born Deng is not waiting for the end of his playing days for his next big score. He’s been investing in real estate almost since the time he entered the league in 2004 and has amassed an impressive portfolio—hotels, resorts, condos and apartment buildings—worth $125 million. Deng is part of a new crop of sports stars leveraging their fame and fortunes in new ventures and striking while the iron is hot. In the NBA alone, you have current players like Stephen Curry, Blake Griffin and LeBron James launching film production companies; Andre Iguodala and Kevin Durant are active venture capital investors; and Carmelo Anthony and Derrick Rose are also engaged in large-scale real estate deals. “If you know the market and you are using your leverage and doing the right deals, it is really nonstop with the opportunities,” Deng says.
Deng was the first hoops star to join Our Opportunity and has helped open the doors to other NBA veterans. Rose, Anthony and Josh Smith have since committed to the project. Anthony, who also invested with Deng in the Virgin Las Vegas, is the face of the investment in his hometown of Baltimore, which includes 91 units in a deal that will close this summer. “Each has deep personal, civic and social ties to the communities and is committed to leveraging their personal brands and resources to radically change the status quo in the places they call home,” Gross says.
While Deng says he is not quite ready to hang up his high-tops, he will be looking for a new contract as NBA free agency unfolds next month. He is still owed $15 million by the Los Angeles Lakers, as part of the four-year, $72 million contract he signed in 2016 (the Lakers and Deng reached a buyout agreement on the final two years of the deal in 2018). But his original side hustle has set him up for a lucrative second career. “I don’t think anyone has invested in real estate to this scale and level of sophistication while they are still an active player,” Gross says. “Most people wait until they are finished. Luol is going to hit the ground running."

Beloved former Memphis Grizzlies star Zach Randolph has put his East Memphis home up for sale. It has 5 bedrooms, 4 1/2 bathrooms, a pool, and an 11,000 square foot basketball court. Z-Bo bought the home in April of 2013 for just over $3 million. The house is currently listed for $3.65 million.
Antetokounmpo bought the River Hills mansion from fellow National Basketball Assocation player Mirza Teletovic, and his wife, Maja, according to state property records posted online Friday. Teletovic, a former Milwaukee Buck, retired from basketball in September because of health issues. He is now president of the Bosnian Basketball Federation. Antetokounmpo's new place, with its purchase price of $1.8 million, sounds nice. "Beyond the sweeping tree lined driveway stands a nearly new 5 bedroom, 7.5 bath custom residence," according to a listing at Realtor.com.
As Seattle finalized a plan for a Key Arena remodel with the potential to bring a men’s NBA team back to Seattle, the Bellevue estate that former Seattle Supersonics point guard Gary Payton bought in 1997 came on the market. While it’s been out of Payton’s hands since 2011, very little has changed between then and now, aside from the addition of a pool house. One relic of the NBA All-Star Team alum’s time on the property is a party pad in the main house dubbed “Payton’s Place.” First, to answer what’s likely an obvious question: Yes, the listing includes photos of Payton’s former basketball court, emblazoned with his initials on the sidelines. After 16 months on the market and price reductions down to $2.75 million, the nine-bedroom, 9,270-square-foot French Country-style mansion in Bannockburn owned by former Chicago Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich has found a buyer. Now retired after a 14-year basketball career, Hinrich, 37, lives in Sioux Falls, S.D., where he coaches at a basketball academy. Hinrich played for the Bulls from 2003 until 2010, and again from 2012 until 2016.
In Bannockburn, Hinrich paid $4.4 million in 2007 for the mansion, which was built by Orren Pickell Builders in 2005. He first listed the mansion in April 2017 for $4.499 million and cut his asking price several months later to $3.9 million. Hinrich then again reduced his asking price to $3.55 million in March, and then to $2.75 million in August. Hinrich went under contract Thursday to sell the mansion.
Fresh off inking a two-year deal with the Celtics worth $11 million, NBA center Aron Baynes has picked up a condo in the Boston suburb of Newton for $1.585 million.
Anderson, who the Grizzlies recently signed as a restricted free agent to a four-year, $37 million contract, purchased the home for $2.31 million. The home was built in 2008, when the property was owned by the late Grizzlies player Lorenzen Wright and his then-wife Sherra, who has been charged with his murder. Longtime NBA guard Monta Ellis, who had owned the massive Eads residence since 2010, sold it to Anderson. While Ellis has never played for the Grizzlies, the woman who would become his wife, Juanika, worked for the Memphis Police Department when they met, according to the Indianapolis Star.
Chris Paul has officially put Los Angeles in the rear-view mirror. The nine-time NBA All-Star, who was traded by the Clippers to the Houston Rockets last summer, has sold his mansion in a gated Calabasas community for $11.05 million. The price is the highest for a single-family home sale in Calabasas this year, real estate records show.
Paul bought the place three years ago for $8.995 million. Over the past year, he has sold others homes in Bel-Air and Woodland Hills.
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr and his wife, Margot, purchased a home in San Francisco’s Presidio Heights neighborhood for $7.35 million, according to public records. The house had been on the market with an asking price of $5.799 million.

Three-time NBA champion and two-time MVP Stephen Curry has partnered with Tolliver on one project in Springfield. In a phone interview with the News-Leader, Tolliver wouldn't reveal which development Curry has invested in but confirmed it's definitely one in Springfield.
He also said getting NBA players to invest in the Queen City doesn't necessarily begin with, "do you want to invest in Springfield?" "It's more so a conversation about real estate first," Tolliver said. "It's not a big deal about where it's at or where it's located. If a deal is going to produce a 10-15 percent return, then what difference does it make?"

The Thunder star has reportedly purchased a 9,000 square foot home in the Los Angeles community of Westside for $19.75 million, according to public records researched by the Los Angeles Times. Per the Times, the multi-level home has living space across two floors and also includes 4,000 feet of basement level space. The home sits on property formerly owned by television star Anthony LaPaglia.

He’ll be back. I can’t tell you he’ll be back (Wednesday). He’s been looking good and we’re still taking the long view with him. From Day 1, we’ve said that when our guys are eligible to play, when they’re available, they’re completely available. No restrictions. Nothing mentally, physically, to hold them back. So he’s getting there. And once he gets there, you’ll know.”

Phoenix Suns head coach Monty Williams started addressing General Manager James Jones’ promotion to president of basketball operations in a way only he can. “He’s earned it,” Williams said before Monday’s 122-117 win at Sacramento. “He’s turned the organization around however you want to put it. He can get rid of me anytime he wants to now. Probably the best way to look at it.”
Moving forward, Jones says he’ll be stepping away from more of the day-to-day whirlwind and delegating some of those responsibilities in order to focus on more big-picture objectives. For the time being, Jones is not eyeing any personnel changes like hiring a new general manger to take on some of his current duties. But he didn’t completely shut down the idea for further on down the line either. “I’m not focused on that right now,” he said. “I mean, if that happens, it happens, but for me right now, it’s getting us to the All-Star break.”
The Suns currently are atop the Western Conference. They’ve won their last five games. “This team is special,” Jones said. “There aren’t any challenges that are daunting to us. If it’s injury, if it’s external situations, external factors, it’s back-to-backs, tough one-point losses. They don’t affect our psyche. Our guys all come in, they work and they show up in big moments. So I’m proud of this team just because I know these guys and I get a chance to see them every day. They don’t get a chance to display their grit and resiliency, but they’ve been able to do it for the first 20 games and we’ve been better for it.”
Jones admitted he’s obviously keeping tabs on the latest with the ownership situation, but for now, Crowder is the pressing issue at hand. Unfortunately, little has changed over the last few weeks, as Jones said there’s “nothing new” with Crowder. “Just haven’t been able to get a deal done,” he said. “It’s the NBA, right? Timing, there are there aren’t any perfect times. Like, there’s no window where they say ‘Hey, all deals are done here.’ We have natural deadlines, like the trade deadline, where you usually have a flurry of deals, but other than that, it’s just finding the right fit, and we just haven’t been able to find that yet.”
