Corey Benjamin: “We fly back to Chicago and at our next practice, I’m looking over my shoulder but I’m also thinking, ‘Yeah right, he’s not going to fly to Chicago just to play me.’ After practice, I’m walking off the court when MJ walks into the gym. He said, ‘I’m about to give you your chance.’ As a basketball player, it was the best feeling in the world to play one-on-one against Michael Jordan in front of everybody. The score was 11-9, just to let you know. Everybody says it was 11-0 or 11-1 or 11-2. He did get up to 7-0 pretty fast and I was amazed; I had never seen anything like that in my life. But the final score was 11-9 and it was the best one-on-one game I’ve ever played. It was like a dream come true.”

Shams Charania: The Lakers are waiving wing shooter Matt Ryan, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Ryan impressed in stint with L.A., shooting 38.2 percent from 3, including a clutch shot in win over Pelicans in November. The move opens up a roster spot for Lakers ahead of Dec. 15 trade date.
Dave McMenamin: The Lakers plan to waive Matt Ryan, who was on a non-guaranteed contract, to open up a roster spot to give flexibility when pursuing deals starting Dec. 15 when contracts signed over the summer can be traded, a team source confirmed to ESPN. The Athletic was first to report.
Charania stated that there is a possibility of the organization securing the two-way swingman. He fits into their timeline of trying to contend and being a solid tertiary option behind Damian Lillard and Anfernee Simons. “Now, he sees that this team, he likes the fit that he has there and we’ve seen him play a few different roles so far in the NBA,” Charania said.”I think the role he has now in Portland is a hybrid role, he’s able to be the one on some nights, the two on most nights, two-three along with Simons and Lillard. So, I think that is the best position for him.”In January he’s going to be eligible for a four-year $115 Million contract extension, we’ll see when he gets that offer, if and when he’s gonna take it.”
Virtus Bologna: According to BasketNews sources, Campazzo previously also had interest from Sergio Scariolo’s side. Yes, Virtus has Iffe Lundberg, Daniel Hackett, Milos Teodosic, Alessandro Pajola, and Nico Mannion as their ball handlers. But Hackett turns 35 in December, and Teodosic will be 36 in March. They’re both on expiring contracts, just like another point guard Nico Mannion. Meanwhile, Campazzo, 31, still has few quality years to offer as a potentially long-term project.
In a conversation with Sergio Vegas, Laprovittola said that he’s upset with the whole situation and added that the NBA doesn’t seem like a good destination for Argentinians. “For me, the NBA is playing in the EuroLeague,” Laprovittola told Vegas. “I do not watch NBA, I got upset after what happened with Luca [Vildoza], Facu [Campazzo], and Gaby [Deck]. It is not a good destination for us.” “It’s a pity that in Argentina, playing in the EuroLeague is not as valued as [playing] in the NBA. Euroleague is so tough. You need to play hard. The physicality is extreme,” Laprovittola continued.
Why, James wanted to know, had he not been asked about a photograph that recently surfaced showing Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, at the age of 14, peering over a crowd of white students who were attempting to block six Black students from entering the doors of North Little Rock High School in 1957? “I got one question for you guys before you guys leave. I was thinking when I was on my way over here, I was wondering why I haven’t gotten a question from you guys about the Jerry Jones photo,” James said. “But when the Kyrie [Irving] thing was going on, you guys were quick to ask us questions about that.”
