Emiliano Carchia: Alexey Shved’s agent Obrad Fimic to @Emiliano Carchia: He’s entering free-agency as one of the best players outside the NBA, and a handful of clubs have called to check his availability. We recently turned down an offer from China for the 2020-21 season.
The prolific scorer made the jump to the NBA making 182 appearances with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets, and New York Knicks through 2012-13, 2013-14, and 2014-15. “There is NBA interest every year,” his agent said regarding a potential NBA return, “I don’t rule out him joining an NBA team if the EuroLeague season is canceled and the NBA season resumes.”
Dane Moore: The Timberwolves pursued Alexey Shved this summer, per @Emiliano Carchia. Shved’s agent — like many agents this summer — was very disappointed with the size of the offers. It appears likely that the Wolves offer was for the minimum — $1.57 million, in Shved’s case.
Alexey Shved received offers from four NBA teams in the offseason, including a $4 million offer for one season. But these options did not suit the best scorer of the 2017-18 Euroleague, according to his agent Obrad Fimic.
"Every year there’s active interest for Alexey from NBA teams," said Obrad Fimic. "This summer, New Orleans, Minnesota, Memphis and Phoenix expressed a willingness to sign him.”
“Next year, Alexey will still be under contract with Khimki, but we'll be carefully considering offers from the NBA,”, said Fimic. “Everyone says the NBA team will have more available money next summer. Therefore, the probability of his departure will increase”
Alexey Shved will remain with Khimki Moscow at least one more season, as reported by Eurohoops. The Russian combo guard has a contract with Khimki till 2020 with NBA outs. Shved tried to return to the NBA but at the end he decided to remain in Moscow trying to bring Khimki to the EuroLeague Final Four.
Before taking the decision to extend his quite lucrative contract with Khimki Moscow until 2020, Alexey Shved turned down some NBA options that didn’t appeal to him. But, he’ll continue to keep his eyes open for opportunities to return to the league in the future. “I don’t close the door to the NBA,” Shved said in an interview with Championat. “I waited for offers from the USA. There were several options that didn’t suit me. I like everything in Khimki. My role in the team, the city, being close to my family and friends.”
David Pick: VTB League MVP Alexey Shved might void his final season with Khimki Moscow to bolt back to NBA, according to source.

The agent for Alexey Shved indicated talks with the Knicks about a return have screeched to a halt and the Russian combo guard is likely to return to Europe this season. Shved has turned down three Knicks offers, none approaching what he is seeking — the $2.8 million room exception. “We didn’t get to the right number with the Knicks,’’ said Obrad Fimic, Shved’s Serbian agent. “Maybe next season. We are considering a return to Europe where we have two huge offers.’’
David Pick: Alexey Shved has turned down Knicks offer and is weighing return to Europe, said agent Obrad Fimic.
According to an NBA source, the Knicks are contemplating offering productive Russian combo guard Alexey Shved their $2.8 million room exception given to under-the-cap teams that have reached the cap benchmark. Shved, appreciative the Knicks gave him a chance after a couple of rocky, unfulfilled seasons with Minnesota, Philadelphia and Houston, would probably accept it.
According to the source, Shved has two other NBA teams interested as well a handful of European offers. Shved, 26, told The Post after last season he hoped to return to New York after grasping team president Phil Jackson’s triangle offense before suffering a broken rib in late March, ending his season.

Adrian Wojnarowski: Los Angeles Clippers center Ivica Zubac has agreed on a three-year, $33 million extension, his agents Jeff Schwartz and Mike Lindeman of @excelbasketball tell ESPN. The Clippers declined his $7.5M team option for 2022-2023, clearing the way for Zubac’s new deal.
Law Murray: Source confirms to @Theathletic that LA Clippers center Ivica Zubac is getting a raise. 3-year, $33 million. @Wojespn first. No options, fully guaranteed, hits market 2025. Not trade eligible this offseason. Longest-tenured Clipper returns as unquestioned starting center.

Tim Cato: I’ll add to the chorus: the Mavericks have had a belief for at least the past couple weeks, multiple sources tell me, that Jalen Brunson would sign with the Knicks. at this point, it’s seen as a certainty.
Pistons decline team option on Frank Jackson, Luka Garza, Carsen Edwards

James Edwards III: Sources: The Pistons will not pick up the team options of Frank Jackson, Luka Garza and Carsen Edwards. Additionally, Detroit’s two two-way guys are Braxton Key and Buddy Boeheim, so Jamorko Pickett no longer holds one of those spots.
Matthew Tynan: Spurs have announced their Summer League roster. Joshua Primo, Jeremy Sochan, Malaki Branham and Blake Wesley will all be in Las Vegas.

The Charlotte Hornets announced today that guard James Bouknight underwent successful surgery yesterday to repair a tendon in his fifth digit on his right hand. The surgery was performed by Dr. Brandon Valentine at Novant Health Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital in consultation with Hornets team physician Dr. Marcus Cook. Bouknight will not participate in the 2022 NBA Summer League.
Marc Stein: Yet I can unreservedly say that this old newspaper nerd is absolutely entranced by this platform and all of its possibilities … as much as I miss the honor of seeing my words printed on the NYT’s pages. I can honestly say, with gratitude and relief, that I thought I would miss the printed word more. It doesn’t torment me nearly as much as I anticipated when I see a Times rack and know that there is a zero percent chance that I have a story on those pages. I’m too busy trying to map out what to write next and when to print it to best connect with my loyal (and patient) readers, whose faith and support make it possible for me to cover the league as an independent journalist. All the costs attached to proprietary reporting — like travel, health care, etc. — fall almost fully on me now, so the assistance is vital in helping me produce the best possible content.
