As Strus is now cleared to resume basketball activities, he will get that chance again to make an NBA roster. Currently, there’s no start date confirmed for the 2020-21 NBA season, but the expectation is it begins some time in January. But Strus is continuing to stay ready for whatever his next opportunity will be. “I have worked my ass off to get here,” Strus said. “I’m ready for my next opportunity, I don’t know what this is going to be. Right now it’s a waiting game to see what next season is going to be like, and what opportunities I will have.”
The Boston Celtics announced they waived Yante Maren, Kaiser Gates and Max Strus on Saturday -- opening the door to sign guard Javonte Green to the final spot on the roster.

Bobby Marks: Boston makes it official and has waived guard Max Strus. The Celtics will have a $415K cap hit and Strus is ineligible to play for their G-League team in Maine. The roster is now at 14 guaranteed, 1 partial (Javonte Green) and 2 Two-Way players.
Mark Murphy: Source added that Max Strus, who signed 2-year partially guaranteed deal, is in serious consideration for 15th spot. He could also be cut.
