The Spurs have removed guard Derrick White from their injury report, an indication that he could return to action as soon as Friday night against the Lakers at the AT&T Center. Thursday's injury list was limited to forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who has been upgraded to questionable after sitting out Wednesday's 121-107 loss to the Lakers with a sore left knee, and guard Quinndary Weatherspoon, who has been sidelined since the summer after undergoing left knee surgery.

Spurs guard Derrick White hit his forehead on the court in a nasty spill during Team USA's 98-94 loss to Australia on Saturday in Melbourne, Australia. USA Basketball announced that White had made the final World Cup roster, but his status for the start of the tournament in China appears to be uncertain after he was tripped while dribbling downcourt midway through the fourth quarter and hit his forehead on the court.
White left the game with a sizeable ice pack on the left side of his head, the Associated Press reported. ESPN reported that "White is recovering" after the third-year guard needed four stitches to close a gash over his left eye.

Second-year pro Derrick White, who had emerged as one of the team’s most important pieces before missing the first five games of the rodeo road trip with a plantar fascia injury in his right foot, traveled with the Spurs to Toronto for the start of leg 2. Though the 24-year-old White has not been formally ruled in for tonight’s game against the Raptors at Scotiabank Arena, he’s listed as probable. Coach Gregg Popovich showed confidence he at least would be ready to return at some point on the trip that moves on to New York on Sunday and Brooklyn on Monday.

Guard Derrick White could make his season debut against the Heat on Wednesday in Miami after the Spurs listed him as probable in their injury report released Tuesday night. White has been sidelined since he tore a ligament in his foot late in the preseason. He was slated to start at point guard after Dejounte Murray suffered a season-ending knee injury in the preseason.

San Antonio Spurs' Gregg Popovich gave an update on guard Derrick White's recovery and said he is on the right track. “He’s progressing as they hoped. I don’t know how much longer it is going to take," said Popovich to reporters before the team's recent game against Indiana.
Popovich continued his assessment saying White is on his feet as his recovery continues. "He’s on the court now kind of walking around, trotting around, and putting some weight on his foot," Popovich said.
