David Furones: Spoelstra did say it was looking optimistic for Herro but no timeline. “And I don’t want him talking about a timeline. He’ll come up with something crazy — like this weekend or something.”
Miami Heat rookie Tyler Herro plans to ditch the walking boot on his right foot next week. “Hopefully by Wednesday and go from there,” Herro said on Friday. “Whenever I’m feeling right I’ll be able to come back out and play. I’m trying to get back and play as soon as possible."
Herro clarified his injury is a foot issue, not right ankle soreness as the team had previously listed. “There’s no more pain at this point,” Herro said. "Just being able to rest it and make sure the problem doesn’t come back up.'

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN during a pregame appearance on NBA Countdown, the Lakers also are looking hard at P.J. Tucker: “The Lakers have been active. I know they’ve made calls about some wing players to see if there is some shooting available out there. Another player they’re interested in: P.J. Tucker, from the Houston Rockets. There’s a lot of interest among contenders in Tucker, who’s in the last year of his deal. The Miami Heat, who the Lakers play tonight, Milwaukee, Brooklyn, several others.
Jay Hernandez: The talks I’ve had with the Hornets staff, coach James Borrego and management have allowed me to continue to be decisive and confident in the messaging that I have been providing the team. Mitch Kupchak and Larry Jordan came and got to see four games. Their presence in the gym was a great sign of support and commitment to the development we have invested in with the Hornets.
Jay Hernandez: On top of having one of the best bigs in Vernon Carey, we were able to add another in Nick Richards who finally got to play his first game last Sunday. He entered the bubble and left after one day to rejoin the Hornets so having him back adds frontcourt depth that has really helped elevate our team.
AllClippers asked Leonard what his favorite cheat meal was, and he gave a pretty detailed response. “I mean it just depends, it doesn’t matter if I win or lose a game,” Leonard said. “Sometimes I won’t eat fried chicken the whole week, or two weeks, it just depends on the day. I try to eat pretty clean. My favorite food is Mexican food. Whenever I have a cheat day or something, I’m trying to get something at a taco shop, majority in San Diego.”
