Detroit Pistons rookie point guard Killian Hayes could miss 4-6 weeks with a torn right labrum, if he doesn't have surgery, sources told Yahoo Sports. Hayes suffered the injury Monday night in the Pistons' loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Surgery is an option, sources say, and if Hayes does have surgery he could miss the rest of the season. Fortunately, there's no apparent structural or vascular damage, and doctors believe he'll fully recover with rehab. The Pistons are sending Hayes to a specialist to determine the next option.

The injuries seem to be coming in spurts, with the Pistons losing rookie Killian Hayes to an apparent hip injury during Monday night’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks. In the third quarter, Hayes was running to contest a fast-break layup and after planting his right leg awkwardly, he crumpled to the floor and immediately grabbed at his right hip and thigh area.
Hayes stayed on the court for a few minutes and was attended to by the team medical staff. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game. "He's going to have an MRI (Tuesday) and we'll find out more," coach Dwane Casey said. "(The medical staff) thought it was a hip flexor but they weren't sure, so they're going to see."
The hope as an organization is that these early struggles would eventually translate to more steady performances in the second half of the season. Even then, you’re not expecting an All-Star talent to emerge all of a sudden, but you do want to see strides, a comfortability that can only be developed through more bumps and bruises. Whether it’s weeks or months until Hayes returns — it very well could just be days — he’ll return searching for that solace on the court that could have been discovered during the time missed from injury. Hayes’ understanding of what he can and can’t do might have been more fleshed out. Any serious time missed could delay his rookie year timeline.
