Gersson Rosas on the offseason: If we don’t get the draft pick, then we’ve already put ourselves in a position where we’ll have some financial flexibility with the mid-level to address some needs, which will add talent to the roster as well. We drafted Leandro Bolmaro last season and part of the thinking was that, if we were to lose the pick, we’d have another young player coming that we’re very excited about, potentially this year, depending on how everything plays out. And then, we’ll continue to look at every avenue and every opportunity through the trade market, to see what we can do to upgrade our talent level and address needs on the roster. But we’ve prepared accordingly for either route, depending on what happens on lottery night.

“If we don’t win, people will have their opportunity to take shots. I’m the one that has to look in the mirror and know that I did my best,” Colangelo said. “I’ll tell you in advance the answer is yes. I believe we’re going to win.”
“A lot of (players) called me and said they wanted to play, and then said, ‘hmm, I’m not so sure.’ I can understand it, there’s been a lot of things going on,” Colangelo said. “It’s challenging when you can’t even go out the door, except to practice or to a game. It’s really hard. If all things were equal, we all had the same time to practice, we all had our rosters set…I don’t think we’d be having this discussion. I don’t. But that’s not the case. So we are going do everything we can to overcome it now, and I believe we will.”
Tony Jones: Guards Joe Chealey and Dakota Mathias will play for the Utah Jazz summer league team, League Sources tell The Athletic

Shams Charania: The Utah Jazz are in serious talks on a deal to send center Derrick Favors to the Oklahoma City Thunder, sources tell me and @Tony Jones.
Spencer Dinwiddie is interested in playing alongside Bradley Beal and joining the Wizards in free agency, as Quinton Mayo noted. Washington would likely need to acquire Dinwiddie via a sign-and-trade to make it happen. Dinwiddie is considered one of the top free agents available in our HoopsHype rankings.
Dinwiddie is intrigued by forming a backcourt tandem with Beal, Rui Hachimura’s game, and Washington off the court, a source familiar with Dinwiddie’s thinking, told HoopsHype. With a core of Beal, Dinwiddie, and Hachimura, Dinwiddie believes the Wizards can become a playoff team, the source said. Dinwiddie also is confident he can help recruit players to Washington.
