Former Mount St. Mary’s basketball coach Jim Phelan died early on Wednesday morning, according to a release from the school. He was 92 years old at the time of his death. There will be a memorial service for Phelan on June 24 at Knott Arena at 1 p.m. Phelan played his college basketball at La Salle from 1948-1951 before being drafted in the eighth round of the 1951 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia Warriors. Phelan didn’t play long, though, as he began coaching as an assistant at Mount St. Mary’s in 1953.

Some around the league believe the Dallas Mavericks will consider trading for Goran Dragic should he end up going to Toronto in the Kyle Lowry sign-and-trade deal with Miami, as ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski mentioned. Dallas can be added as a third team in the Lowry sign-and-trade deal where they get Dragic. The Mavericks can also trade for Dragic separately with Toronto. Both avenues can happen using Dallas’ cap space.
