Philanthropic Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving has made another appearance on GoFundMe to help out a pair of families in need. According to WFAA, the Mavericks guard donated $38,000 to the families of Sharath Yedavelli and Vaani Yadlapati, UNT master’s students who were involved in a fatal car accident earlier this month.
Yadlapati died following the crash that occurred on March 2 and Yedavelli suffered multiple serious injuries, including facial fractures, a broken leg and a broken collar bone. Irving’s donation will go toward funeral costs and medical expenses for those involved. After his donation, the families admitted to WFAA that they did not know who Irving was, not being very big basketball fans, and had to Google his name.
