This is a top-heavy class which means Barnes or Jalen Suggs could still be available with the fifth pick. Don’t be surprised if the Golden State Warriors make a move to trade up and snag either prospect remaining on the board. The cost be could a bit higher than they’re willing to pay but they’re undoubtedly going to explore a route to either prospect as both would fit well in their winning culture. If the Warriors are not able to trade No. 7 to move up, I wouldn’t be surprised if they trade down. I’d imagine the Memphis Grizzlies are a potential suitor. Golden State could then use No. 10 and No. 14 to select win-now prospects like Davion Mitchell and Chris Duarte.

Jake Fischer: In wake of Gersson Rosas’ departure, word has circulated among league sources since Summer League that incoming Minnesota Timberwolves owners Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez have communicated they are fond of Sixers general manager Elton Brand. A name to keep an eye on here.
All of this stems back to Jokic’s under-the-radar approach to the game and life as an NBA superstar. The 26-year-old big man has no vision of living the celebrity lifestyle, instead opting to quietly go about his offseason back in Serbia as he prepares for another grinding season. Leave it to Hyland to perfectly encapsulate Jokic’s approach to the game when explaining some of his initial impressions of the reigning MVP. “You would never know that he won MVP,” Hyland said. “Just the way he carries himself, it’s like he’s grinding for another MVP, or he’s grinding for that next contract. He’s 1 of 1 for sure.”
The Detroit Pistons did it with a J Cole jersey earlier this year along with a “tryout” offer that, let’s be honest, just didn’t seem to be real. But this time, we at least got Cole on the court. The hip-hop superstar was actually running with the Orlando Magic in a team practice. Like, it was really him. Practicing. With the Magic. Cole Anthony, RJ Hampton. All of them.

Dane Moore: For quite some time now there has been dissension in the Timberwolves front office and organization, sources say. Moving on from Gersson Rosas is not an out of the blue development. In a critical year, with new ownership, the Wolves decided to act now rather than delay.
Jeff Zillgitt: Statement from Timberwolves on dismissing Gersson Rosas: “Today, the Minnesota Timberwovles parted ways with President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas. As an organization, we remain committed to building a winning team that our fans and city can be proud of.”
