Mike Trudell: Andre Drummond (right big toe contusion) and Wesley Matthews (neck contusion) are questionable for Tuesday night’s game at the Raptors (played in Tampa). Toronto plays Washington tonight. Kyle Lowry is out, and Fred Van Vleet is questionable for that front end of their B2B.
Mike Trudell: Vogel said Andre Drummond is still in “a great deal of discomfort” with the toe, and is struggling to get his shoe on, so he’s “just not there yet."
Dave McMenamin: Lakers newly-acquired center Andre Drummond will miss a second straight game, today vs. the Clippers, with a torn toenail and bruised right big toe, a source with knowledge of the situation tells ESPN
Andre Drummond: Well I lost a toe nail 🙄🙄😂 but still felt incredible wearing the purple and gold!! Be back soon 💜💛 @Los Angeles Lakers
Dave McMenamin: There is optimism that Lakers center Andre Drummond will not miss more than a game or two with his right big toe injury, sources told @Adrian Wojnarowski and me. L.A. plays at Sacramento on Friday, then the Clippers in L.A. on Sunday before embarking on a five-game East Coast road trip
"I didn't really think anything of it," Drummond said. "I came back in the second quarter and it was hurting a little bit more. And then after halftime I finally took my sock off to look and my whole toenail was gone. It was all bad from there. I couldn't walk or run, so I just told coach to take me out." Frank Vogel obliged, and Drummond limped to the locker room shortly after. X-rays were negative. The Lakers said Drummond will be re-evaluated Thursday and is considered day-to-day. Their next game is Friday on the road against the Sacramento Kings.
Mark Medina: Andre Drummond "very happy to see" that x-rays came out negative. He said he'll keep icing to heal the right big toe. Drummond on level of pain: "I've lost a toe nail before, but this one was very painful." He said he can't put his shoe on. Wearing flip flops
Drummond said Bucks center Brook Lopez stepped on his foot in the first quarter, causing the injury. "I didn't really think anything of it," Drummond said. "I came back in the second quarter and it was hurting a little bit more. And then after halftime, I finally took my sock off to look and my whole toenail was gone. So, it was just all bad from there. I couldn't walk or run. So I just told Coach [Frank Vogel] to take me out."
Lakers forward Markieff Morris said he has lost a toenail before and that it was an ordeal to overcome. "I mean I played the next game, but s---, man, that s--- was like a month and a half before it started feeling better," Morris said. "Because you don't realize how much your toe is rubbing against the top of your shoes, or you're using your toe for power. ... It's a terrible thing." Said Drummond: "I've lost a toenail before. But this one was very painful."
Kelsey Russo: Larry Nance Jr. is listed as out (wrist sprain) in the #Cavs game notes for tonight against the Timberwolves. Andre Drummond (low back soreness) is listed as questionable. Kevin Love and Matthew Dellavedova remain out.
Kelsey Russo: The only update to the #Cavs injury report for tonight’s game against the Spurs is Andre Drummond (calf strain) is probable. OUT: Darius Garland (groin strain), Dante Exum (ankle sprain), Kevin Porter Jr. (concussion)
James Edwards III: Kalin Lucas and Isaiah Whitehead are here in Detroit. Drummond (nasal injury) is out, Smith (adductor) is questionable, Leuer (illness) is probable.
James Edwards III: Dwane Casey said Ish Smith is day-to-day, and Andre Drummond has a nasal contusion. He'll be re-evaluated tomorrow.
Rod Beard: #Pistons Andre Drummond (illness) will start tonight vs. #Hornets, along with regular DET starters: Jackson, Kennard, Bullock and Griffin. #DFS
Andre Drummond is out for Detroit's game Saturday night against Houston because of a right rib contusion. The star center played in Friday night's loss at Philadelphia , but the Pistons are holding him out against the Rockets
Andre Drummond could join the line of Detroit Pistons masked men. After Drummond had recent surgery to correct a deviated septum, a problem that’s caused him breathing issues for several years, Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy told the Free Press on Friday that it could make Drummond more prone to a broken nose.
“The only thing is there’s a little bit of a chance that it makes you more susceptible to breaks, which he knew going, which means he may have to wear a mask, at times,” Van Gundy said outside the Quest Multisport facility. "Or if it gets hit. So we’ll see.”

Free agents left on the Wolves radar: Frank Kaminsky, Gorgui Dieng… and maybe Boogie Cousins? I’m waiting to hear a little bit more information on that. Also, I was told they may wait out the KD and Kyrie situations that when those two players are traded, likely separate trades, that other players could hit the market. Maybe somebody ends up in Brooklyn, Brooklyn buys out that player. So the Wolves may wait out those situations before adding another free agent.
Adrian Wojnarowski on Kevin Durant’s potential trade: “The market is still taking shape, and I think it’s incumbent on some of the other teams to be creative and start bringing to Brooklyn ideas, going out and seeing if they can get players, picks that would put the kind of package it would take to get Kevin Durant. Brooklyn’s got time on its side. They have a lot of time left in the offseason and they have a player in KD who has four years left on his contract. They don’t have to rush into a deal.”
The Wolves spoke with the Spurs a number of times about DeJounte Murray, he has a number of fans here. The Wolves were very, very interested in bringing Dejounte Murray to Minnesota, just not at the price that Atlanta paid.

“The Lakers have yet, I’m told, to be aggressive in trying to put a deal together to get [Kyrie] from Brooklyn. That may come, that may evolve with time. But so far right now, there’s no traction really on deals with either Irving or Durant.” 🗣️ @wojespn
John Clark: I’m told despite reports, the Sixers are not pursuing Kyrie Irving I’m told there were discussions internally about Kyrie and other players, but the Sixers never entered into actual talks with Brooklyn As far as Kevin Durant, remember he has a big say in where he will wind up
Those who know Durant cite two primary factors: a rocky Nets season that ended in a first-round playoff sweep; and the franchise’s soured relationship with Irving, his close friend. Durant doesn’t see much hope for a revival under the circumstances, those sources say. And he’s unhappy that his friend is unhappy.
As one insider sympathetic to Durant noted, “Kyrie sabotaged everything,” but Durant is reacting more to the effects than the cause, and he now views the Nets as unsalvageable. “There’s no use in (him) taking sides when it’s all too far gone,” the person said. In essence, the Nets were right in principle, but wrong in practical terms, failing to understand that making Irving upset “was going to drive Kevin away.” It’s instructive to note that for all the chaos, all the havoc and all the stress, Durant still wants to play with Irving, according to league insiders.
