Steve Clifford officially back to Charlotte

Charlotte Hornets President of Basketball Operations & General Manager Mitch Kupchak announced today the team has named Steve Clifford head coach. Clifford, who previously served the team’s head coach from 2013-2018, returns to Charlotte, where his 196 wins ranks second in franchise history, sitting just 11 behind Allan Bristow.

Damichael Cole: David Roddy said he got a text message from Tyus Jones before the NBA Draft. He called Jones one of his mentors growing up in Minnesota. He played AAU basketball with Tyus’ younger brother, Tre Jones.

Rasheed Wallace is an NBA champion and four-time All-Star. On Friday, he was honored for his work off the basketball court. The 1700 block of Hunting Park Avenue was renamed Rasheed Wallace Road. City Councilmember Cindy Bass led the effort to honor Wallace for his philanthropy in Philadelphia and around the nation.

Basketball legend and TV personality Shaquille O’Neal recently bought a home in Collin County, local brokerage Rogers Healy and Associates Real Estate said Tuesday. Zac Gideo, a real estate agent for Rogers Healy, worked with O’Neal last May to buy a home on a 0.228-acre lot, according to the firm.
