“As you get older and more years in the league,” said Herro, who was named last season’s NBA Sixth Man of the Year, “you realize this is what comes with the business. You could be in one city one day, the next city the next day. But at the end of the day, it’s about me and getting better every single day in the summer. Like I said, what team I’m on, I’m ready to play.”

Dave McMenamin: I’ve been told that had the Lakers been able to acquire, Kyrie Irving, or the Lakers been able to acquire Donovan Mitchell, either of those players, the Lakers were willing and able to move both those [first-round] picks to do it.
Brian Windhorst: Any any explanation to the intrigue on why Rob Pelinka And Darvin Ham delayed their press conference by five days? … Why would they do that? Why would they do that? Dave McMenamin: I just know around the same time that occurred we were hearing from the Pacers GM that Myles Turner will for sure be with the team to start training camp so I don’t know.
When discussing the reasoning behind Draymond Green’s desire to play for various teams, the executive noted that the Warriors star would love to play with Luka Doncic. “He has always thought about playing for Detroit, helping his hometown of Flint at the same time. He would love to play with a superstar like Luka where he has to just play off him,” the executive said. “And he is Klutch. you know he loves being on the barbershop show with LeBron James. He wants to have an entertainment career when he is done playing. You don’t need to be in L.A. for that, but it helps.”
There are a bunch of players who could be available to them in free agency, but sources who spoke to Sean Deveney of Heavy.com mentioned one in particular – Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green. Dallas was named as one of the teams he could potentially want to join if he were to leave the Warriors.
“He does not want to, but if you ask around, I think there is a sense that he would,” a Western Conference executive told Deveney. “There is a limit on how much they’re going to spend to keep this thing together and because they have young guys are just about every position, they’re approaching it like there’s no one outside of Steph that they have to keep. Look, it would suck for them if Draymond left, it would suck to call up Steph and have to tell him, but Draymond has made it clear he is about player power. If he gets a big offer from Detroit as one example or maybe Dallas or the Lakers, somewhere he would like to play? He is not going to be shy about leaving. He understands this business.”
Jaylen Brown can’t help. “I wish we had more details,” Brown said. Jayson Tatum had nothing, either. “I just don’t know,” Tatum said. Marcus Smart had a blunt assessment of what the last few days have been like. “It’s been hell for us,” Smart said. Days removed from the announcement of head coach Ime Udoka’s season-long suspension, the Celtics appeared at the team’s annual media day searching for answers. They know Udoka has been exiled for team violations, which sources told Sports Illustrated was connected to an intimate relationship with a female staff member.
Beyond that, the Celtics insist, they don’t know much. “From what we know, it’s hard to make a decision based upon whether it’s consensual or not in the workplace,” Brown said. “We know that’s happened before in the workplace. But I guess there’s more to it than [that] possibly, which I don’t know. I don’t have all the details. It’s not being shared with me.”
