NBA rumors: Alex Caruso arrested for marijuana possession

Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso was briefly behind bars in Texas after he was suspected of possessing marijuana. According to the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office, Caruso was charged with possession of marijuana of under two ounces and possession of drug paraphernalia. The 27-year-old was arrested by Texas A&M University Police and was booked Tuesday, according to jail records.

Brazos County (Texas) Sheriff's Office jail records indicate that the 27-year-old Caruso paid a $552 fine and was released on $3,000 cash bond.
Lt. Bobby Richardson of the Texas A&M Police Department told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne that around 2 p.m. Central Time, Caruso tried to board a flight at Easterwood Airport in College Station, Texas, which is located on A&M property. The Transportation and Security Administration searched Caruso's bags and found a herb grinder that contained marijuana, Richardson said. According to online records, Caruso was arrested for possession of less than two ounces of marijuana. He was released after posting bond. Caruso played collegiately at Texas A&M. He is an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
While the exact specifics on the charges still aren’t out to the public, his Lakers teammate LeBron James had an instant reaction to hearing about the news. King James was reacting to renowned meme producer Josiah Johnson, who posted a hilarious clip of how LeBron would try to get Caruso out of jail.
