McLemore isn't nervous as his guarantee date approaches. "I know my contract," he said. "But the non-guaranteed deal doesn't faze me. I grew up with nothing. Nothing was guaranteed." Even if the unexpected happens, McLemore will keep battling. This season has revived his passion. Almost everyone McLemore has come into contact with over those wayward first six seasons will be rooting for him. "I love him," Joerger said.

Blake Murphy: The Ben McLemore 10-day with the Raptors is not happening, at least for the time being, per a source. Roster shuffle made a 10-day less necessary, especially pre-All-Star.
Josh Lewenberg: There were some CBA complications that prevented the signing of Ben McLemore to a 10-day contract over the weekend, as planned. It sounds like that deal has fallen through since. Raptors have to add 1 more player but I'd imagine they're looking at bigs.

After practice Wednesday, McLemore said he has given little thought to what it might all mean for his future in Sacramento. "I’m really not even focused on that," McLemore said. "I let my agent Rich Paul and my circle kind of handle all that, and keep me up to date with things like that. Now I’ve got a daughter here in my world, so I’m really focused on that and finishing the season strong."
It is believed throughout NBA circles that McLemore's best playing days would come in a different uniform; his name has been linked to much trade chatter the past few years.
“It’s one of the most important years to come for me. But at the end of the day, I’ll continue to do what I do best, and that’s working my butt off.” McLemore can become a free agent after the season. He’ll be restricted if the Kings make a qualifying offer rather than letting him leave as an unrestricted free agent. With the rising salary cap, players on their rookie deals such as McLemore are bargains. A qualifying offer for McLemore for the 2017-18 season will cost the Kings just $5.4 million.
