NBA rumors: Tacko Fall signing two-way contract with Cavs

Shams Charania: The Cleveland Cavaliers are signing 7-foot-6 center Tacko Fall to a two-way contract, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Fall earned deal out of Cavaliers training camp.

More on Tacko Fall Free Agency

Chris Fedor: Tacko Fall, a source tells @clevelanddotcom, will be receiving a camp deal from #Cavs. Similar to Thon Maker last year. Fall will come to camp and compete for one of the final roster spots or a two-way contract. (Now I’m getting back to my vacation).
Shams Charania: The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to a one-year, non-guaranteed deal with 7-foot-5 center Tacko Fall, agents Bill Duffy and Justin Haynes of @BDA Sports told @TheAthletic @Stadium. Fall played his first two NBA seasons in Boston.
If two-way player Tacko Fall remains with the organization through free agency, he would join the team as well. Fall has continued his summer training program at the team facility, even though he is now a restricted free agent. The Celtics only have Rob Williams, Moses Brown and Tristan Thompson under contract at the five spot, as well as Grant Williams who functions as both a forward and center.
Michael Scotto: The Boston Celtics have extended qualifying offers to Tacko Fall and Tremont Waters. Both were two-way players for the Celtics last season. Now, they will become restricted free agents.
The Celtics believe that with further development Fall could become an NBA contributor. But it’s unclear if they want to keep a development project on the roster. That’s where things become tricky. Fall signed an Exhibit 10 contract, meaning he will receive a $50,000 bonus if he is waived and agrees to then join the Maine Red Claws. But Fall’s agent, Justin Haynes has insisted that Fall will be picked up by another NBA team before that happens, and that has been reiterated to the team recently, league sources said.
But Fall does not want to settle for that route. He is trying to make Boston’s final roster, and because the team waived forward Guerschon Yabusele last month, he should at least get a chance. “If the Celtics release him, I don’t think he goes unclaimed,” said Haynes, Fall’s agent. “I think somebody will take a shot on him because he’s done enough to show he can find a place in the NBA. I’m really hopeful that it’s Boston. I hope they find a way, and they do have a vision for him.”
BDA Sports: The AAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2017, welcome @Tacko Fall to the #BDAFamily
Mark Murphy: Celtics keeping options open re: Tacko Fall and his training camp contract. With Yabu gone, extra roster spot gives flexibility that can be used in variety of ways.
